Wet both hair and the shampoo bar. Glide the shampoo bar down the length of your hair about three times (right, left and back). Work into a lather and rinse thoroughly. Follow with LUSH conditioner if needed. Keep your solid shampoo in a cool, dry place between uses; we recommend using a LUSH shampoo bar tin.

Sort out itchy, flaky scalps
We’re just going to say it upfront: this shampoo bar smells like campfires, but it is incredibly effective at fighting flakes and soothing irritated scalps. Cade oil is what gives Soak and Float its distinctive smell; we use it because it works wonders against the microbes that cause dandruff, and it also works to alleviate bothered scalps that are dry and itchy. Lavender oil helps to improve the smell, and works its magic with marigold petals to soothe and clear up irritated scalps. If you have dandruff all you need to do is Soak and Float.
- Don’t be a flake: Dandruff happens; its how you wash it that counts. Use our cade oil and lavender bar for best results.
- If there’s smoke: It must be cade oil. We use it in Soak and Float for its microbial effect and to soothe dry scalps.
- Wonder oil: We use lavender in all of our ranges for its effectiveness at soothing sore skin and scalps.

Q:How often should I use it in order to be effective? I´ve just bought one of these and I´m using twice a day because my scalp is on fire, is it ok?Asked on 8/21/2014 by Marcinho from Sweden
A:I'd recommend using it however often works best for you. If twice a day is working fine, keep it up!Answered on 9/25/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
A:I would visit the dermatologist immediately. It seems as If you have a
condition that would best be treated by a professional.Answered on 8/24/2014 by Anonymous
I apologize, I purchased this for a family member and don't know how often to use to be effective. My suggestion would be 1x a day followed by a soothing conditioner such as American Cream.

Q:What is the best way to store this shampoo bar? I have the tin for it, but it sticks to the bottom of the tin and breaks into pieces. Do you recommend drying it on a paper towel before placing it in a dry shampoo tin? Thanks!Asked on 7/24/2014 by Shelley from Greensboro, NC
A:The shampoo bar tins are great for storing your shampoo bars. However the shampoo bar shouldn't be wet when you put it in the tin. You can pat it dry with a paper towel or leave it to dry naturally before putting back in the tin.Answered on 9/8/2014 by Anonymous
A:I set my shampoo bars on a soap dish that leys it breathe. Stays dry, never
mushy.Answered on 7/24/2014 by Anonymous
A:I keep mine on a soap dish in my linnen cupboard it smells amazing and stays out of the humid bathroom, the bar would prob stick to the paper towelAnswered on 7/24/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Is this safe for color treated hair?Asked on 4/24/2014 by Kayla
A:While we don't test on specifically colour treated hair, Soak and Float does not contain sea salt and citrus oils which tend to promote fading, so you should be fine! If you'd like to use a shampoo that's made especially for colour-treated hair, Blousey is the one you should try.Answered on 4/24/2014 by Anonymous
A:I have color treated hair and it didn't seem to affect my color at all. Hopefully someone from the company will address this for you.Answered on 4/24/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Can this product be used on dreadlocks?Asked on 4/11/2014 by Tina
A:I bought this specifically for my locs, and its perfect so far.Answered on 11/23/2014 by Dee Gleason from Stockton, CA
A:We do not test our products on dreadlocks, so it is difficult for us to guess how this shampoo bar will work. I can say most definitely that the strong, campfire-like scent of the active ingredient (cade oil) in this shampoo bar will probably linger more than it does in non-dreaded hair, and that it will likely be very noticeable.Answered on 5/3/2014 by Kendra M from LUSH Direct
Q:Would this help with psoriasis of the scalp?Asked on 3/25/2014 by Andrea
A:Soak and Float is made with cade oil and lavender to help balance and soothe irritated and flaky scalps. I would still recommend checking with your dermatologist however, if you are concerned about its reaction to psoriasis.Answered on 3/28/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
I have a friend with severe psoriasis of the scalp. She has tried the shampoo and was only slightly improved. This was good for her as nothing had ever helped.
The bar usually lasts 2 1/2 months with daily shampooing if you leave it out to dry every day. If left in the canister it will be gone in about 1 month. I usually only use the canister for travel.
Good luck with the psoriasis controlAnswered on 3/26/2014 by Anonymous
Q:If I would like to use one of your conditioners after this shampoo bar, which one would you recommend me?Asked on 2/27/2014 by Nina from Bogota, Colombia
A:I think that Jungle's scent or Retread would work wonderfully with the toasty scent of Soak and Float.Answered on 3/28/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
A:I wish they had a matching scented conditioner, as the smell is phenomenal, but I have only used the Retread conditioner and the Jungle solid.
Retread works nicely but the Jungle solid I use more for the scent. It lasts a very long time and ta a hit with anyone who can smell your hair but it wasn't the softest conditioner.Answered on 2/28/2014 by Anonymous
A:Happy Happy Joy Joy or Big Solid. They both smell amazing and work great. With Big I put maybe 1/2 tsp. and rub it between hands until it's a paste, then rub that down my hair-usually twice (inside/outside or scalp/tail). Just have to make sure it's totally creamed or else it won't rinse out easily and you're stuck with a butterball in your hair.

Q:Does the smell linger on your hair after you wash it?Asked on 1/15/2014 by Nancy the Newbie from Barstow, CA
A:While the scent will not be as strong as when you're using it in the shower, it will linger in your hair subtly once it has dried.Answered on 3/8/2014 by Kendra M from LUSH Direct
A:I bought this for my sister. She said that for her the scent does linger
for some time after using it. Hope this helps.Answered on 1/16/2014 by Anonymous
A:Yes. Faintly, but it does enough that other people have noticed of they are close enough.Answered on 1/16/2014 by Anonymous
Q:Is this product good for color treated hair or dyed hair with out taking out to much color? Also what conditioner should I use with it?Asked on 1/8/2014 by Tanuki from Beckley, WV
A:Typically, sea salt and citrus oils tend to promote fading, and Soak and Float does not contain these ingredients, so it should be fine! If you'd like to use a shampoo that's made especially for colour-treated hair, Blousey is your best bet! Your choice of conditioner depends on your specific needs and preferences, so that can vary quite a bit from person to person.Answered on 3/21/2014 by Brandy from LUSH
A:It does lather up well. I usually find that shampoos that don't lather preserve color better. I will say that my hair felt incredibly soft and clean without feeling stripped. You won't have to use a rich conditioner

A:I loved the shampoo. It did no seem to fade my color any faster than usual & I really loved the scent. I used it with several Lush conditioners, as they work really well but my fave is the Jungle puck.
Always get many compliments on how my hair smells tooAnswered on 1/8/2014 by Anonymous
Q:How long can i keep the bar? Thanks!Asked on 12/1/2013 by Lily
A:Our shampoo bars have a shelf life of 14 months from the time they were made!Answered on 12/8/2013 by Anonymous
Q:After using this bar, it has worked well for my dandruff, it sometimes leaves my hair smelling like mildew. I've noticed this every now and then from any bar shampoo I get from lush. Although I only get the stink every now and then but could it be the bar or how I wash my hair? Or both?Asked on 7/17/2013 by Sandra from Chicago, IL
A:The scent you are noticing from time to time could possibly be from the bar not drying completely between uses. We recommend keeping it stored in a cool, dry place in between uses where it will not come into contact with moisture. This should help!Answered on 10/4/2013 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:Not sure if this is right but you may not be letting the bar dry out enough between uses.
I prop mine up on it's side in the tin so it doesn't get mushy or funky and I've never had an issue.Answered on 8/29/2013 by Crabcakes from North Pacific Region, USA
