I originally bought this last summer during my Lush binge and never got around to using it after the initial first try. Recently I've started using more product on a daily basis, washing my hair 4 times a week instead of 7, etc...basically doing all the "right" stuff. I remembered having this bar in my stash and decided to try it at the end of the week as a clarifying shampoo, since I needed to "detox" my hair, and OH. MY. GOD. This stuff is aMAZing. It lathers surprisingly well, lasts forever, and lives up to it's name - after using this, my hair is literally "squeaky clean." Literally. It squeaks. Definitely pair it with a deep deep conditioner or treatment (I use Macadamia Deep Repair Masque). I wouldn't recommend it all the time, since it's so clarifying and tends to make me even more voluminous and frizzy than normal.

I have super thick, wavy, frizzy, easily curled hair. I usually style it with a smoothing serum and a little curling mousse and my fingers. On weekends I use this shampoo with that deep conditioning masque and just let it air dry - it feels SO GOOD AND CLEAN AND SOFT after both products.

One con - as the bar goes on, you get little chunks of the herbs and plants stuck in your hair and all over the shower. Make sure you rinse really thoroughly and you should be fine...

I purchased this bar recently as a gift to myself to celebrate the end of another semester of graduate school and I couldn't be happier! It is the first shampoo I've purchased from Lush and I was skeptical about using the bar (I have long curly hair), but it has a great lather and smells awesome! I've also used it with particularly dirty hair, after the gym and whatnot, and I feel like it cleans my hair better than the liquid shampoo that I'm used to. I've never written a review of a product, but I am so happy with this one I couldn't help it.

I'm a minimalist and I would rather not use shampoo. My hair is curly and my scalp is dry, so the less I use shampoo, the better, but I do have to use it every few days. Squeaky Green gets rid of the oil and smells amazing. I got it a year ago and I'd estimate that I've only used half of it.

It doesn't lather up quite as much as the others I've tried (Godiva and Jumping Juniper), but it works anyway. It doesn't moisturize as much as Godiva, either, which could be bad for some people, but I don't use conditioner and Squeaky Green was enough moisture for my dry hair.

Did I mention it smells amazing? I did. I'll say it again. I want to try other solid shampoos to see what they're like, but this one smells so good that it's going to be hard to switch.

As an environmentalist, I love this product because of Lush's dedication to vegetarian/vegan products and becuase of the packaging: none! I bought this in the store and recently visited the website and found that Sodium Laureth Sulfate was a main ingredient and I am so disappointed. I know it is in almost every cosmetic product but it is horrible and cannot believe it is considered a "SAFE" synthetic. I would really like to see Lush move away from chemicals like SLS whenever possible.

With that being said, this shampoo is really nice. Good, thorough clean, and lathers (because of the SLS,lol) well and more than expected. My hair is long and therefore does not last long.. maybe 30-40 washes.

Ok, first I feel a little bit like a bah-humbug, because I have some frustrations to share about two of three products which I am reviewing today, but hopefully it will be informative for others and possibly helpful feedback for Lush.

With that said, Squeaky Green is a great shampoo bar for oily scalp. Similar to Jumping Juniper, I am able to shampoo every other day and not have my hair quite as oily by the end of the second day as it would be with other shampoos. This bar is slightly more fragranced than Jumping Juniper, but not overpowering, and does not leave much fragrance on the hair after shampooing, which could be good or bad, depending upon one's preference. This bar does last longer than Jumping Juniper and is probably very slightly more drying (again good or bad depending upon preference--for me it just means good oil control, but not overdrying).

However, what's the deal with all the herbs?! First of all, they are all black by the second day, which looks kind of nasty, but that doesn't really bother me--just freaks my kids out. The real downside to these herbs (and don't get me wrong, I love herbs--I also use them in everything) is that it makes this bar a little difficult to use. Swiping it down one's hair is out of the question, as this pulls out hair. Turning it in one's hands to create lather is the only way to use this bar, but this is not easy either, as the herbs are poking out everywhere. In fact, today I actually got a splinter in my finger from shampooing my hair. What?!

So needless to say, I wouldn't mind if the herbs were ground down a bit more to make this bar easier to use. I don't think the proportion is so much the problem as the texture and consistency. I am very glad to say, though, that this Squeaky Green bar does work well and seems to be lasting longer than my Jumping Juniper bar. With any luck, it will last me a month of every other day shampooing.

So as a birthday gift I got the "Stay Green" gift wrap which contained the "Squeaky Green" solid shampoo. My expectations were only somewhat met. It smells great, and you can get a lot of later, and it cleans thoroughly HOWEVER when the label says "Squeaky Green" it's not an understatement my hair was literally squeaky, and extremely dry feeling afterwards. Realistically shampoos are meant to cleanse and clean out the dirt but I would've been happier if it wasn't so harsh. Otherwise it does the job; it cleans, smells great, but if your looking for something more gentle I would not recommend this product.

I got a sample of Squeaky Green from my Lush store (probably about a year ago) after I told the girls how Soak and Float made my dry itchy scalp even itchier. Well, I've been using Squeaky Green ever since then, and it is my favorite shampoo for my scalp. Whenever it feels itchy or dry, I wash it with Squeaky Green and it feels so much better. I would never ever go back to commercial brand bottled shampoos.

My hair is very long thick/coarse/wavy so I do find that it dries out my ends just a bit, so I usually scrub my scalp with Squeaky Green and use a different Lush shampoo on the rest of my mane. If my scalp is particularly itchy or flaky, I'll rub some Jungle conditioner on it as well and it helps quite a bit.

Also, the solid shampoos last forever!

I WANT to love it, but it definetly makes my hair feel dry. I will use up the rest of the bar, but I'll probably try a different kind once this one is used up.

I've used many of the solid shampoos and generally like most of them for my fine, straight, mostly trouble-free hair. I like to wash my hair every two days and Squeaky Green was the best at keeping my hair looking non-greasy on day two.

BUT those dang herb pieces are a mess. A mess in the shower and a mess on your hair. I also found the little stems would sometimes pull on my hair when I rubbed it directly on my head. I resorted to keeping the whole bar in a stocking to keep the herb pieces from getting everywhere. This worked but severely limited the overall life/use of the bar as it wouldn't dry out as well between uses and became a gummy, un-lathering mess in time. It still seemed cheaper than high-end bottle shampoo so I was happy to do it when I still had a local lush store. Now that I'm back to being a mail-order lushy I'm also back to Seanik and some of the other solid shampoos that give me less trouble for about the same result.

This is the first Lush product I ever tried, and it's still my number one! I love it so much, and it has helped my greasy hair so much. Never get rid of this product!

I have been using products that adertise as "sleek and shine" and ended up with clumpy oily hair by the end of the day. After having to use a terrible dry shampoo i gave up using and went to LUSH. I already had been using some of their products and when I saw they had Shampoo i was astonished. I used it the instant i got home and it felt so amazing in my hair, clean the second i ran it through my hair and it smelled amazing! My hair feels amazing has volume and shiny and ULTIMATELY FEELS CLEAN. Im a college working student so i need something quick and cheap and this is perfect! Im in love. My boyfriend smells my hair all the time and he loves it!

I've always struggled with oily hair and dandruff, and most shampoos I've used have left me with a weird greasy film on the back of my head even after I've cleaned and showered. I tried this shampoo bar after visiting Lush to see if they had any products to amend this problem and it works amazingly well. The bar works perfectly and I no longer have to deal with gross-feeling hair. The bar smells awesome too and actually lasts longer than I thought it would.

I've had a weird oily dandruff combo for a long time now and this has been absolutely amazing. The lather is a bit strange--it lathers, but it's very thin. But when my hair dries, my hair is so soft and shiny, and it takes so much longer for my hair to get oily again! I have a feeling it will start drying out my scalp soon though since it works so well after only a couple days' use, so I would suggest trading it off every couple weeks with a hydrating shampoo, or Superbalm.

It's been a few years since I've used this bar. I mainly wanted to comment on how I made it easier to use. I hated the herbs and tangly bits. They wear off of the bar pretty quick, after maybe 5 uses, but until then the tangling is horrible.

I used a cheese grated and lifted off the layer of herbs. Then I could get to the good shampoo bar underneath. Sandpaper works too. Just need something to get rid of that layer of herbs.

I recently purchased a gift pack and this shampoo bar was included. I have walked past the hair care section at LUSH many times, but this bar has made me a convert. While I am not keen on the flakes I have gotten from using switching from my normal to this one, I am willing to try new things.
Love that there's no liquid here, and I don't feel like I need to use a lot to get my hair clean.

I wash my hair every night because I have such oily hair the next day if I don't wash it. I've used some other Lush solid shampoos and this one has been the only one that hasn't made my scalp dry and itchy. It's so gentle and smells sooo lovely! The smell lingers in my hair all day long. When I dry the shampoo bar in my bedroom, my whole room smells soo good.
I use to put argan oil in my hair to soften it, but I don't have to anymore!

The reason I gave 4 stars was because the rosemary and nettle pieces get stuck in my hair. So while I have conditioner in my hair, I will brush my hair in the shower but my hair gets so tangled from all the little pieces stuck.

Besides that, I will definitely be repurchasing this shampoo.

I am serious when i say that i have the most Dry and tangly hair , i use this with organix teatree mint shampoo so it doesn't Dry so much , overall i love the smell and it lathers good ,

It works great. If you have oily hair this works wonders. it doesnt dry out your hair too much and it makes me feel so good
