I went into my local lush store yesterday looking for a good, moisturizing lotion and ended up leaving with this one. I tried several on in the store and this is the one that had the best scent and it felt nice on my skin in store. Once I got home, the smell was still amazing, but it didn't seem as moisturizing as it had been in the store and since I have very dry hands that get eczema blisters, I don't think this will cut it. :( But I did see where another reviewer mixes this lotion with aveeno, so I may try that because the scent is just too amazing to give up!

I first bought Dream Cream and didn't like it because it absorbed so quickly. So I bought Sympathy for Skin and FELL IN LOVE!! I like to be kind of greasy and this product is a happy medium! It gets rid of my dryness and goes on super smoothly. Plus it smells great!! The price is a turn off but I rotate between products to save!

I LOVE this stuff! I have VERY dry skin that is in constant need of exfoliation and moisturizing, my skin will actually start to flake off on my torso (where I'm the driest) if I don't SLATHER on lotion after every shower I take and reapply a bit before I go to bed. But this product makes my skin SO baby smooth after my showers when I put it on, that it's ridiculous.

Of course, I mix it about half and half with my aveeno lotion and a dollop of my prescription lotion when I put the stuff on (I highly recommend mixing the aveeno and SFTS together, it makes the product turn into this moose finish and helps it to sink in better. Plus you use less product this way!)Before I added in SFTS into my little lotion concoction, the stuff really didn't FIX any of my flaky dryness, it just sort of made the flakes less noticeable, but with the SFTS, I am ECSTATIC to say that I have silky smooth glowing skin! I have repurchased this product for my fifth time, and whenever I'm without it, my skin goes right back to being naughty, so I'm confident in its quality (each tub last me about four to five months each, so it's a good buy).

I have tried to use this product just by itself, but I find that the consistency of it is just a little too slippery for me. It DID amazingly soften my skin when I used it by itself, but I just prefer mixing it to get that frothy consistency that it takes on mixed with something.

The smell is very soft and reminds me of vanana (vanilla banana) yogurt from Trader Joes when it's spread on my skin. It's a very light scent and my boyfriend really likes it, but you can't smell it unless you actually sniff me. I HATE the smell of it in the tub though, it smells of over ripe plastic bananas and it's positively gag worthy. Yet, spread it on your skin and it magically transforms itself into a yummy treat... I wonder why that happens...

Anyways, I'd recommend this AMAZING product to anybody with skin like mine or anybody that wants a moisturizer that's not too heavy and not to thin that REALLY does its job well.

I'm not much of a lotion person, but winter dryness is a bit of a problem for me - I work in a pet store, and having your hands go in and out of fish tanks and sinks all day leaves one's hands feeling very chapped. I was debating over which one to get, and finally settled on Sympathy for the Skin. I think I may have to use it after every shower from now on! In the pot, the aroma is very subtle, but you can really smell it once it's on. It smells like a yummy vanilla milkshake, and the scent lasts forever! It's even better when used together with American Cream conditioner and Fair Trade Foot Lotion - you end up smelling completely edible, like some wonderful ice cream shop.

Aside from the lovely smell, it spreads on easily, moisturizes very well and a little goes a very long way. It's a little greasy-feeling and it takes a while to stop feeling so, but I'm kind of sensitive to lotion in that respect anyway so it might just be me. I just wish there was also a small pot available - it would be easier to carry to work that way!

IT WORKS! I have suffered from psoriasis for over 10 years. I have spent hundreds of dollars on products prescribed by my dermatologist and all have failed. Sympathy not only moisturizes, but also calms. It smells wonderful and lasts all day. I apply after shower, but also a few times during the day. My skin is left soft, glowing and smelling wonderful. Most definitely worth the investment.

This was my first legit purchase at Lush and I must say I'm highly satisfied. First of all, it smells AMAZING. Like, cookie dough, mixed with bananas? Banana cookie dough? I don't know, but it smells delicious and I want to eat it. It works so well. I told my mom to try some and she got way too much making her greasy, but I've learned you only need a little bit to moisturize or else it will be greasy. That's the only complaint I would have about it, other than that, it's perfect.

I have been trying to find a perfect lotion for my skin ( I have very sensitive and dry skin) And i bought CeraVe for $20 and it did not work!!! And then we went to lush and I asked the guy that works there ( FYI they have the best service ever!) And I asked If there is a Hand and Body lotion that is good for my skin. So he showed me this one ''Sympathy For The Skin'' And as soon as he put it on my arm my skin was able to breath! And 30 mins later my skin was baby soft! I have really dry elbows And then I applied this Lotion on, and two days later it was baby soft!!!! I Love this Lotion so much and i think it is perfect for all skin types and it is heaven for the skin love it and i think you will too!

First off, I should point out that I am awful at taking care of my skin in the winter. I love steamy hot showers, and, working at a veterinary office, I wash my hands very frequently throughout the day. The first time I tried Sympathy, I wasn't sure about it - I received a sample size that I proceeded to carry with me at work and apply throughout the day. Needless to say, I fell in LOVE!

I apply it to the backs of my hands first, and it feels more silky than greasy to me. It absorbs pretty quickly, although I admit, I can't stop touching my skin or sniffing my hands while it's on! It smells absolutely delicious, vanilla and sweet with a hint of banana.

My biggest concern about buying this was the tub size - it's pretty big, and I didn't think I'd go through it very quickly. Boy, was I wrong! Between applying before bed, applying throughout the day, and refilling my little sample pots for while I'm at work, I went through almost 3/4s of a pot within a month and a half! But it's so worth it, and I'll continue to buy! I use it all over, including on my lips, if I forget my lip balm!

Sympathy for the Skin smells like vanilla and a little like banana, like an ice cream or custard - but the fragrance is very faint. This is a heavy moisturizer that is a little greasy, even on my dry winter skin, and needs some time to sink into my skin before I put clothes on. I can't imagine using this in the summer. One really annoying thing with this lotion is that it has hard little black particles in it, so as you apply the lotion you get them stuck to your skin and need to make sure you get rid of them all or you'll look like you have dirt stuck to you or something.

Out of the three lotions I have used from lush (dream cream, sympathy for the skin, and karma cream) this is my second favorite. It's definitely the lightest lotion of the three and it smells the best. I stopped using this lotion in the winter though because I tend to get pretty dry skin. Dream cream is my go-to lotion, but this lotion smells so good. I will definitely buy another pot once summer comes around. This lotion is great for summertime because it is a very light lotion but still very moisturizing just not quite enough for my winter skin. This lotion also lasts a good amount of time because a little bit goes a long way, and it absorbs really quickly too! This would be a perfect every day lotion for someone that doesn't tend to have drier skin.

I really love this moisturizer. When I first opened the jar, I liked the scent but was a bit disappointed that it wasn't stronger. Once I put it on, though, I couldn't stop smelling my arms! It's a creamy scent- mostly vanilla, but not the horrible harsh artificial vanilla scent. It smells like something I really want to eat. If you like creamy dessert scents, you'll love this.

Oh yeah, it moisturizes great too. Can you tell I'm obsessed with the scent, though?

I used this product during the day for both of my pregnancies and I LOVED IT!! I didn't get any stretch marks I really think it saved my skin!! Now I use it on my children and me all the time! Especially during the summer to save my tan :-) Excellent Product!

I really like this lotion. It smells pretty good. I definitely like the way this smells more than Dream Cream. I have psoriasis and so far, I haven't had any bad effects from it. It goes on great, absorbs well, and just feels good to put on my skin. I personally don't think it is greasy but perhaps others would. I'm used to having to load on moisturizers.
I would definitely recommend this to all. A little goes a long way too!

Simply amazing. I use this lotion after every shower, and sometimes I re-apply to my hands and elbows if I'm feeling extra dry. I usually have dry skin that gets really parched in the winter, and this product is perfect. I've started to notice a really big difference in my skin. It's not just more moisturized, it's brighter and softer than it usually is in the summer. AND it smells awesome, which is a huge plus.

I got this from my mom as a birthday gift and I couldn't be happier. I used it after the shower and was in love, especially through the whole of the next day, my skin still felt amazing... Since I am reading about the issue regarding the shelf life, I'm keeping mine in the fridge. It DOES have bananas in it. I know the cold may affect it slightly, I let it warm in my hands a bit before application. Highly recommend.

Before I found this product I was completely devoted to Dream Cream. Now, I feel as if my loyalty is quickly changing to Sympathy. Not only does it moisturize well and satisfies my sensitive skin, it smells a bit like a banana split. The best part is that the banana isn't overbearing to the point that you can't smell anything else. The vanilla and sandalwood compliment it really well along with doing wonders for my skin. The only drawback I could think of is that I would like it to last just a bit longer. It's quickly becoming my favorite body lotion of all time.

It's winter time in MN so I needed a new lotion. This smells wonderful! Like French vanilla ice cream with a hint of banana. It moisturizers well and absorbs well . It goes on so smooth. I open the jar just to smell it all the time. Perfect winter yummy lotion.

I can't begin to tell you how much I love this stuff! first off when I opened the pot it smelt just like Banana bread! YUM! and when I applied it, it than smelled like cupcakes! this stuff moisturizes well specially right after washing your hands! I just wish my mom could smell this cause she would love it! yes it is slightly greasy but goes away fairly quickly.

Ordered sympathy on a whim. I needed a good lotion for my extremely dry legs. A lot of the reviews make it sound amazing so I gave it a try and I fell in LOVE immediately!! Opened the pot and it doesn't smell like bananas at all, it's ,ore of a vanilla scent. And when I first applied it to my skin it was absorbed immediately, i was shocked! Within seconds my skin was so so soft and smelled scrumptious, I will never stop using this wonderful moisturizer.
