Apply generously to dry hair, leave on for 20 to 30 minutes, and then shampoo out. Use about a quarter of a pot for short hair, or about half a pot for longer hair. Those with very long hair should use the whole pot. (Yes, it is a lot, but the effects are long lasting and well worth the investment.)

Smooth and give shine to frizzy manes
For some reason or another, the fluffy hair trend of the 1970s has yet to make its comeback. So for all you frizzy-haired heads out there; this one’s for you. Our blend of moisturizing olive oil, cognac oil and beer gently flattens down the surface cells to smooth and add shine to unruly manes. Plus, fresh lemongrass, mint, sage and thyme keep the scalp in fantastic condition. For best results, plaster it onto dry hair and wrap your head in a towel. Give the fresh herbal infusions time to soak in (say 20 minutes) then rinse off and shampoo as usual. You'll emerge with a soft, shiny, frizz-free mane.
- Frizz! Fluff! The Strokes is a savior for anyone whose hair has gotten out of control.
- Regular use: Use The Strokes weekly for shiny, manageable hair (whatever your geographical location)
- Brewed right: We blend locally brewed beer into The Strokes to give fluffy hair weight.

Q:I'm trying to find a product to help grow my hair out. I see that there's olive oil in the product which is conducive to hair growth so I'm wondering if this would help me with that?Asked on 4/12/2014 by LongerHair
A:While olive oil is great for strengthening and nourishing the hair and scalp, it is some of the other ingredients in this treatment that are really going to help with hair growth: lemongrass, thyme, sage, and especially mint. These ingredients help promote a healthy scalp, and this in turn results in improved hair growth.Answered on 5/3/2014 by Kendra M from LUSH Direct
A:I'm not sure it will help grow hair - but it is a fantastic product in
terms of making your hair shine, feel healthier and smell great! This is
one of my favorite hair products from Lush.Answered on 4/15/2014 by Anonymous
A:The strokes is an amazing product. I use it to repair my hair so that the ends are soft and I don't have to get a haircut as often. I also use r&b and my hair is as long as a mermaids.

Q:Should you apply it to dry hair or wet hair?Asked on 4/8/2014 by Caliburrito13x from San Diego, CA
A:All of our Hair Treatments should be applied to dry hair as the water on wet hair interferes with the effectiveness of the product. Apply generously to dry hair, leave on for 20 to 30 minutes, and then shampoo out. Use about a quarter of a pot for short hair, or about half a pot for longer hair. Those with very long hair should use the whole pot.Answered on 4/11/2014 by Kendra M from LUSH Direct
A:I apply dry just so I know where I've missed and how much product I've
used. Enjoy!Answered on 4/9/2014 by Anonymous
Q:I heard from a video on youtube, that this should be refrigerated. Is that true? It was of runny when I got it in the mail. Would it affect the product if I did refrigerated it? Make it more solid?Asked on 2/27/2014 by E'Syl from Rockledge, Fl
A:The Strokes is formulated to be stored at room temperature, so there's no need to pop it in the fridge.Answered on 3/19/2014 by Megan from LUSH Direct
A:I personally don't refrigerate mine. I find it is easier application room
temp. I also use a spoon to get the product out (it avoids getting as much
product under my long nails). Hope this helps! :)Answered on 3/10/2014 by Anonymous
Q:I have crazy-curly mixed (black/white) hair. It is insanely curly. Has anyone else with mixed hair used this and how well does it work and for how long?Asked on 7/9/2012 by Grainne
A:The Strokes is definitely meant for any hair that is prone to frizz, which tends to be the case with curly hair. We recommend using it weekly to keep the frizz at bay, and to keep your hair soft and manageable.Answered on 10/27/2012 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
Q:How long does one treatment last?
Until you shampoo again? Or is it different with everyone?Asked on 2/6/2012 by Anonymous from Lafayette, LA
A:According to customer reviews treatment lasts up to a week at a time.Answered on 2/8/2012 by Community Answer from None
A:I recommend doing a weekly treatment of the Strokes hair treatment, as it's like a deep-conditioning hair mask. The hair should feel soft, smooth, and conditioned between uses.Answered on 2/16/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:One treatment should leave you're hair feeling softer for a few days. It really depends on what other processes you use on your hair, heat treating, harsh shampoos, daily washing, etc. For me, I wash every day, heat dry a few times a week and use a fairly mild shampoo (silicone + sulphate free) and I only do a hair mask once a week or every other week.Answered on 3/20/2012 by laney_lushie from Manchester, CT
A:It's been a week since I used it and my hair still feels great! I left it in for about an hour, rather than the recommended 20 minutes... only because a friend called and yacked my ear off, lol. I think the extra 40 minutes only helped, though, as my hair was VERY frizzy.Answered on 4/3/2012 by Julia from N. Andover, MA
A:Ive heard you should use it around once a week for thick or curly frizzy hair.Answered on 4/7/2012 by bimmer from La puente, CA
