Q:What should I do if this product already dried out my hair?Asked on 1/4/2015 by Curly haired girl
A:Hi there! Thanks for your question!
I would recommend using Retread Conditioner after you use Trichomania. :)Answered on 1/17/2015 by Anonymous
A:I wouldn't use it everyday then, maybe once a week? Or make sure to use a good conditioner after!

Q:Does the scent linger in the hair? If so for how long and how strong?Asked on 5/28/2014 by Curious
A:No, the scent goes away when you rinse your hair. Also, if you condition your hair, the conditioner will most likely mask its light/natural creamy coconut fragrance.Answered on 10/22/2014 by Riz from Daytona Beach, FL
A:It keeps hair smelling great, but there won't be an overwhelming scent! After the shower the scent tend to dissipate and won't be as strong and if you leave your hair up when it's still wet the scent tend to stick around a little longer. I also find that if you blow dry your hair the smell is a little fainter, but it lasts a little longer than just air drying it!Answered on 9/12/2014 by Anonymous
A:It depends, what else you use. For example, if you use Coolaulin conditioner, and very subtly-scented hair mousse & spray (or none at all), the scent will linger for a good five to six hours, but it will be subtle. However, if you use an overpowering conditioner (like Happy Happy Joy Joy, which is very freshly fragrant), and/or a very fragrant foam/spray/styling product, then no, it will not be noticeable.
To keep this scent, I like to use the Coolaulin conditioner with this shampoo, and then Coconut powder sprinkled on the roots of my hair after blow-drying (it is a deodorant powder, but it works really well to absorb excess oil on roots and give volume).Answered on 6/7/2014 by Anonymous
A:If you put your hair up when damp and then take it down later - the scent
is still there! Also, if you blow dry it, it tends to take the scent out...
;(Answered on 5/31/2014 by Anonymous
A:It's not a super strong scent. Your hair will just smell clean. Not totally like coconut all day. I'm actually not a fan of how the bar smells straight out of the box but it smelled better once I started using it. It's not 100% coconut. There's some other smell. But it's light and doesn't stick. I do recommend it. It cleans well and does what it says.

Q:What tin is the best size/shape to store it in?Asked on 3/24/2014 by lilbluegirl
A:The most important thing with our solid shampoo is to keep it out of water and to let it dry out completely between uses. Because of its irregular shape, our body butter tin would probably be the best storing method out of the tins we provide, but you may have to trim it a bit.Answered on 3/25/2014 by Kayla from LUSH DIRECT
A:I got the square tin. It works well it's kinda hard to fit in the first time but shrinks down after usage!

Q:Isn't Sodium Lauryl Sulfate bad for your hair and health? and yet it is still in this product...
And what are the rest of the foreign sounding ingredients? I can not click on them.Asked on 2/9/2014 by jinz from United States
A:Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is not bad for the hair. It is a surfactant (or lathering agent) which helps remove dirt and build-up that could be damaging your hair. All of the other ingredients now have clear definitions online, so hopefully you will be able to clearly read what they do and why we include them. Briefly, most are either an emulsifier (help water and oil mix in order to thoroughly clean the hair) or a surfactant (substances used to lower the surface tension of a liquid, which then allows easier spreading of product and helps to emulsify it). The emulsifier/surfactants are Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, and Soya Lecithin. The other ingredients are conditioning agents, and some work as both: Soya Lecithin, Stearic Acid, and Lauryl Betaine.Answered on 3/28/2014 by Kendra M from LUSH Direct
A:I got nothing. But the shampoo in question is great for my hair.Answered on 2/10/2014 by Nanote from Upstate NY
Q:Does this product work well with color treated hair? Also, what conditioner works well with this shampoo?Asked on 5/12/2013 by Kristina from NY
A:Yes, Trichomania has worked wonders on restoring my color treated hair back to health. It has only eight ingredients which is great, because unlike other drug store brands that have a ton of (unnatural)ingredients that may overwhelm your already fragile hair, Trichomania is a simple and effective way to cleanse and restore your hair's health. You've heard it a million times-Blousey is the only shampoo Lush specifically makes for color treated hair, but Trichomania is a great solid/cheaper alternative.Answered on 10/22/2014 by Riz from Daytona Beach, FL
A:Trichomania is a nice one for color treated hair, as it is very gentle and shouldn't affect the color. Coolaulin, which is part of our retro line, is a popular compliment to Trichomania in both scent, and purpose!Answered on 9/25/2013 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
Q:I have fine hair that gets oily. I'm thinking of getting this to use in pace of shampoo+conditioner, as kind of an all-in-one? I know it's super moisturizing, but anyone have good results using it that way and cutting out the heavy conditioners?Asked on 6/5/2012 by Anonymous
A:I find with Trichomania, for most hair types a conditioner is still very helpful. If you're worried about it being too heavy, I find the Veganese has the lightest finish.Answered on 6/12/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:Go for it. It didn't leave any residues :)Answered on 6/18/2012 by EmMorningstar from San Diego
Q:I have naturally straight hair, but I have a lot of hair so it's thick. It's always so fluffy and dry looking. Would this product be good for my hair or is it only for African Americans and curly hair?Asked on 1/23/2012 by Anonymous
A:I think this will definitely tame your locks. It works amazing on dry, and fluffy hair, not just black American, or curly hair. Try a piece, I bet you'll love it from the instant you start rubbing it in...Answered on 3/5/2012 by Long Island Lushie from NYC
A:LUSH's Trichomania is made with creamed coconut to add moisture to dry hair. By moisturizing that deeply, curly hair can be better controlled. This product is not race specific, it works well for anyone with dry hair.Answered on 1/26/2012 by Community Answer from None
A:This product will work wonders on any one that has thick hair of any kind that needs that extra control. My hair is wavy, thick and extra fluffy, so I need something to control the frizz and weigh it down. This shampoo is ideal. It smells great, lathers up good and left my hair feeling really clean and super soft. Give it a try!Answered on 1/26/2012 by MeliQ from Buena Park, CA
A:Trichomania would be perfect for you! I've got some pretty fluffy coarse hair for a caucasian girl, but this stuff works miracles. It's not super greasy like a lot of smoothing products are, so you don't need to worry about that. It's basically just a wonderful moisturizing shampoo, so it'll knock out the poof and the dryness.Answered on 2/9/2012 by Panda! from A cornfield, Nebraska
A:I have naturally straight hair as well and this shampoo worked wonderfully for me. I don't see why it wouldn't work for you as well. (:Answered on 2/16/2012 by Jessica from Charlotte, NC
A:It's moisturizing which is why it is so beneficial to African American hair and curly hair but by no means does that mean it can't help your hair, I say give it a go!Answered on 3/7/2012 by Curly Q from Los Angeles, CA
A:I think that you should give it a try. Everyone has different hair types, like curly/straight, but there are other factors to consider. Like you have thick hair, but is it oily, or dry? Trich works best for normal-dry hair. And the smell is wonderful (natural coconut). It has a creamy lather, too. And it is MUCH more gentle than over the counter shampoo. My hair is curly, but the hairs are fine in some places and thicker in others. The thing is, my hair is VERY DRY and when my hair is semi-dry, this is pretty good. (I can't use this though, when my hair is driest). So, If you are not too oily or too dry, then this will probably please you (If you like the smell of coconuts). This works great w/ American Cream, just to add :)
Hope that helps.Answered on 3/12/2012 by :) from Maryland
A:I have wavy hair and it works like a dream. I have thicker hair as well and this product really made it manageable. Go for it, and you'll love it as much as I do. its for sure not only for African American hair, so don't worry. =]Answered on 3/18/2012 by Lux from Providence, RI
A:I think this would probably work for you. I have straight to wavy hair that gets dry in the winter. I don't shampoo every day because it dries out my hair too much but using this every 2-3 was perfect.Answered on 3/24/2012 by Krissy from PA
A:I have super thick (summers in Phoenix are hell on my head) slightly wavy hair that's always frizzy. Well, it was until Trichomania came and saved my hair and mind. I think it would be excellent for your hair issues, it's definitely not just for African Americans and curly haired individuals.Answered on 4/10/2012 by Page from Phoenix, AZ
A:I have thick straight hair too and I love this product. I find that it leaves my hair in really good condition. I could almost leave out using a conditioner.Answered on 4/17/2012 by Girl with the super straight hair from USA
A:I have slightly wavy hair, a lot of it and VERY thick, and this is definitely a good product for me, so I assume it would be for you, too. It's definitely not just for PoC with thick, curly hair. My wave is very slight and varies from day to day (some days, straight). This is a good product, definitely go for using it.Answered on 4/24/2012 by Ruthi from Oregon
A:I definitely recommend this for dry/fluffy hair. It's gentle to where your hair isn't over dried, but is strong enough to still clean it. The coconut oil in this also helps keep moisture within the hair.Answered on 4/26/2012 by Megan from Milwaukee, WI
A:My hair is straight-wavy and VERY think, and this is the best product I've ever used for my hair. It should be perfect for you!Answered on 5/8/2012 by Arthur from Florida
A:I'd use it- it made my straight hair super soft and shiny. It'd probably be great because your hair is thicker.Answered on 5/10/2012 by Alaisa from New York, NY
A:The coconut in this shampoo is INCREDIBLY moisturizing as it penetrates into the core of the hair shaft. I'd definitely give this product a try as the coconut will moisturize your hair and help to weigh it down a bit. My best friend has straight thick hair and she also uses this one and adores it. Good luck!Answered on 5/13/2012 by Becs from LA, CA
A:I have naturally straight hair and I use this product every day!! It is really great for any type of hair! :)Answered on 5/21/2012 by Sam Blam from San Diego, CA
A:YES! My hair is thick and straight as well and I love it! Certainly give it a go. I don't personally need a conditioner with this, but you mentioned your hair is dry so you might want one to go with it.Answered on 6/3/2012 by dameliac from Easton, Connecticut
A:This product is suited to all hair types as the creamed coconut and coconut oils are extremely hydrating and softening. We just find it works exceptionally well for curly, dry or frizzy hair. It will help to restore the hairs moisture and leaves hair with a nice, healthy gloss.Answered on 8/30/2012 by Anonymous
Q:Is it ok to use on colour treated hair?Asked on 1/19/2012 by Anonymous
A:This product is not officially designated as color-safe, but because of the extremely gentle ingredients, many people who have color treated their hair have used it and had a lot of success with it. The coconut really helps to nourish and protect the hair, and the gentle cleansing helps to prevent the color from being stripped.Answered on 7/13/2012 by Laura from LUSH
Q:how long does this particular bar last, on average?Asked on 1/9/2012 by Anonymous
A:Depends on the length of your hair. I got a small chunk, roughly an inch thick, an inch wide, and 1.5 inches long, and it lasted me almost a month on my short hair (and that's after working up a great lather). If anything, ask for a sample with your next purchase and see for yourself.Answered on 1/17/2012 by Alec from California
A:It will last between 60-80 washes provided the bar is allowed a chance to dry after each use. I'd recommend keeping it in a well-draining soap dish to help it last longer.Answered on 1/13/2012 by Megan from LUSH
