Q:Does this product strip color from hair?Asked on 7/28/2015 by Lauren from Nashville, TN
Q:How do you store these so they don't dry out? Does it come in a tin or case?Asked on 7/23/2015 by maytree from Olympic Peninsula, PNW
A:I would recommend putting the shampoo bar in a dry place after each use- and hugging it using toilet paper or paper towel to help soak up any extra moisture. Tins are available to buy in shops or online!Answered on 7/24/2015 by Anonymous
A:Hey! I'm Lauren, a fellow shopper. I've used the shampoo bars over the past few years and here's a few tips:
I have the tin, which comes separate from the bar itself, costing somewhere in the area of $3. The bar is already dry, until you wet it and create a lather with it. My recommendation is to keep it out of direct water stream unless you're using it! The tin is great, and helps with travel, but I've used the bars without it and still got the same results!
Hope this was helpful!

Q:I have fairly average hair, fine but lots of it. I need something that's not too heavy nor stripping, would this be a good choice? I've used brazilliant (left hair too oily) and montalbano (too drying) before.Asked on 5/31/2015 by Miles of Hair from Washington state
A:Ultimate Shine is a great choice and is somewhere in between Brazilliant and Montalbano on the spectrum. You will likely find that it leaves your hair feeling super clean and looking glossy!Answered on 6/1/2015 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
A:Absolutely! This shampoo is very easy on the hair, feels light and even
adds a little shimmer. I have thick, fine hair as well, and I used this
while traveling, finding that it was better for my hair, especially without
having conditioner available to use.Answered on 5/31/2015 by Anonymous
Q:Would I need a conditioner after this product? I'd like to not have to use conditioner, but if I don't my hair can get super staticy. I'd like to be able to stop using conditioner if I could.Asked on 3/1/2015 by Ami from Topeka, KS
A:We do recommend that you condition after using any of our shampoo bars. If you wanted a super lightweight conditioner, I would definitely recommend giving Veganese or Happy Happy Joy Joy a try!Answered on 3/2/2015 by Meg from LUSH Direct
Q:The Ultimate Shine Shampoo bar says that you don't need a conditioner, if I were to still use a conditioner, would it weigh down my hair? (I use the Hempz Vanilla Plum volumizing conditioner)Asked on 1/17/2015 by Brynn from New York City, New York
A:I used conditioner with this product, and it worked great! I would just
use this as any shampoo.Answered on 1/19/2015 by Anonymous
A:If you still want to use a conditioner after using the Ultimate Shine Shampoo bar, but don't want your hair to feel super weighed down, try just applying the conditioner to the bottom portion of your hair, skipping the roots!Answered on 1/18/2015 by Melissa S from LUSH Direct
Q:I recently read about a study that found Parabens and Phthalates are found in many cosmetic products. Except, the Food and Drug administration does not have any regulation on these chemicals. The study talked about how many cosmetic producers do not have to included these under their ingredients for that reason. It also said that some companies list these under the category of "Fragrance." Since these chemicals have been known to lead to many heath problems including reproductive failure, I would like to know if they are in any of the Lush products? I love Lush and am extremely happy with my shampoo and conditioner, I just want to make sure I am only putting the good chemicals onto my body.Asked on 9/11/2014 by Sydney
A:At LUSH transparency is very important. While we are happy to use parabens in some of our product lines, we always list them in our quantitative ingredient lists. We also offer paraben free alternatives in all our product lines. Further more, about 70% of our products are self-preserving. That means the ingredients (like salt, powders and butters) that we use to make the product effective are also the ones helping us preserve your product!Answered on 9/25/2014 by Rene from LUSH Direct
Q:Are the Solid Shampoos safe for color treated hair?Asked on 4/2/2012 by Anonymous
A:Technically none of our shampoos are designed to be colour-safe, however some shampoos will be more colour-stripping than others. Ingredients to avoid are clarifiers like sea salt and citrus juices. The Ultimate Shine would be one of the more gentle shampoos we offer, as it does not contain either of those ingredients.Answered on 4/3/2012 by Megan from LUSH
A:I know that I've seen reviews by people with colored hair on the Ultimate Shine shampoo bar, most say that this particular shampoo stripped their dyed color right out.Answered on 4/23/2012 by Andi from Augusta, ME
