As I stared at the flaky mess my forehead and nose had become, yesterday morning, I realized... it was time for my winter skincare routine. Ultra Bland and Cosmetic Lad happily in my purse after a jaunt to the mall, I'm pleased to report that I have a much more positive outlook planned for my skin, this winter. Yes, it is a challenge to get on the Ultra Bland train when you're used to foaming cleansers! Try Ultra Bland for a week (they'll even give you a hefty sample at a LUSH shop) and you'll realize your ideas about "clean" and "balanced" were totally off track. Have fun, and happy cleansing.

Okay, before I start, a lot of you are complaining that its greasy and it stays on your skin after you wash it off WITH WATER. Well dears, thats because its oil based...... you need to take it off with TONER!

That being said, i love this product! It really hasn't helped remove make up but it has improved the texture of my skin and it feels extremely soft after I wipe it off with Tea Tree water. Its GREAT to remove Blackheads as well! Im a little disappointed that Sweet Japanese girl is no longer available so i'm glad i tried this.. the only thing its missing is an exfoliant to go along with it.

And to those who say "try cold cream, its the same thing" no its really not. You're using manufactured, unnatural products on your skin that also come from animals that are useless. I would rather support a small company like LUSH that actually wants a quality product with humane ingredients.

I wasn't totally sure about this when I first bought it, but needed a better solution for a nightly cleanser that didn't irritate my skin. I did find that when using this as my only nightly cleanser and removing it with water and a washcloth I broke out. Now I use Dark Angels a few times a week, Ultra Bland with rose water toner to remove, and follow with Vanishing Cream. On nights I don't use Dark Angels I use 9 to 5 as my cleanser instead. My skin is soft and clear and one container lasts forever.

I knew I would like it since I have used Ponds cold cream for many years as a cleanser. It feels nice and I take it off with a hot washcloth. Afterwards I spray my face with Eau Roma.

I use this as a makeup removal aid with breath of fresh air. When it is dry out that is all I do for night- just ultrabland and the toner. It keeps my face clean and moisturized and sealed from bacteria!

Only con is that, like many lush products, it can't be exposed to undue heat! I left a pot in the car in some luggage for an afternoon and it had melted and separated. I am still using that batch up but it isn't nearly as pleasant!

It removes make up great! It's fast and it's great for people who don't like to use water. I use the toner to remove it and its great! The only thing is ants try to get into it because they smell the ingredients.

I'll be honest, I wasn't so sure about this product when I first tried it. It's thick and greasy. However, I found it works wonders at removing make-up - much better than anything I've used before. I've found that getting a hot damp washcloth and adding a few drops of rosewater to it works perfectly for removing it - it won't come off by rinsing with water.
If you are prone to breaking out, I highly recommend cleansing the face afterwards with a good cleanser or exfoliater.
This is great in the Winter for removing make-up without drying out the skin.
It's also very portable. Because it's so thick, it doesn't ooze or drip out of its container (though you should still put it in a plastic baggy).

I've been wanting to try this product for a while now, so when I ran out of my make-up remover I took the chance and bought it.
At first, I wasn't quite sure about the smell, but you don't even smell it when you use it (I only use it on my eyes to take off my everyday make-up, not on my whole face).
I was suprised at how well it actually worked. I only used a small bit, then went over it with a wet tissue and after that my make up was gone.
I also think that it will last a long time since you only use a very small bit so this makes it definitely worth the price.

I have oily skin/ acne prone skin and I love this!! I hardly ever break out now and when I do, it's like it's nothing. I can actually go out without makeup (Lush color suppliments) now if I want! And my forehead was kinda of dry and now it's not at all. I feel like my face actually behaves now. It's a huge confidence boost.
I was skeptical at first because I thought that only a scrub could help but I was wrong!

This does a great job at removing makeup but its honestly so good that I dont want to waste it doing that! So I use normal makeup removing wipes and then this after a little bit of angels on bare skin. It creates a barrier of moisture that is non greasy on your skin, balances out any irritation or redness and makes your skin so supply and comfortable and it's a joy to use! Since I have combination skin I do follow it up with tea tree water as a precaution just in case my nose gets too moisturized with this and, you know, greases up. But it hasnt so far! But I wouldnt recommend it to oilier skin types of course. It also does a number on the fine lines I have on my forehead or anywhere else. Beautiful stuff that sinks into your skin like a dream. Helps out the rosacea on my cheeks too. One time I over exfoliated my nose with an AHA and this was the only stuff out of a bunch of moisturizers that would stop my skin from flaking, just straight from the pot without even rinsing it out (because it sinks in that nicely with no residue). Very worth a try!

This product is great for late nights or time when I'm just too lazy to wash my face before bed. I keep my jar of Ultrabland next to my bed (along with Breath of Fresh Air toner and cotton pads) to save my skin when I'm too exhausted to wash my face. I just rub a little bit onto my face and wipe it off with cotton pads soaked in toner (I will add, it takes quite a bit of effort and toner to get my skin clean). It works well to take off makeup and leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized.

My only concern with this product is that it clogs my pores, but that is better than it would be if I slept with my makeup on. Fortunately, I don't need to use it often and the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.

I have extremely reactive/sensitive skin. While Ultrabland is the BEST makeup remover I have ever used (no alcohol stinging or medicinal smell! Great at spot correction for liquid liner or mascara! TAKES OFF RED LIPSTICK!) I can't use it as a daily or weekly all-over-facial cleanser the way I used to, as it seems to cause a little redness and irritation.
Make sure you use it as directed. It will be greasy and sticky if you try to rinse with water. Use a hot, damp washcloth rather than splashing your face. Following with a toner does wonders. (:

This product is awful! I usually love lush products and after reading a lot of good reviews online, I bought this cleanser. I have oily skin and it made my skin slick with grease. It was very hard to remove and didn't do anything for my skin. I definitely don't recommend this to anybody with combination or oily skin.

I use this every night before I go to bed to remove makeu, oils, dirt and just anything that might have gotten on my face that day. I love it. It removes everything without scrubbing or really even trying. i just smooth it on and rinse it off and my face feels fresh and clean. I really like it at night becasue it's just moustirzing enough but doesn't leave me feeling oily or greasy.

I bought this under a recommendation from a friend. After entering the store, I was told that this product will be able to clean eye make-up, which I was in need of then. Unbeknowst to me, eye make-up refers mainly to eyeshadows and mascara. I hardly put on eyeshadows. I mainly tightline my eyes and a thick coat of mascara. It is tougher to remove any eyeliner that is lined near the lashes because you need to massage the product into your skin. Hence, I wouldn't recommend this product as a make-up remover but I would recommend this as both a moisturizer and facial cleanser. Beware that the beewax ingredient leaves a filmy texture on the skin. I'm alright with that so I use that right before bed. It cleans dust and impurities off my skin from a day out. But then again, only as a facial cleanser and not so much as a make-up remover.

I don't actually use this everyday as the product describes because I use another moisturizer that I've been faithful to and it to me, but Ultrabland is the only make-up remover I'll ever use. After coming home from clubing, or a long night at an event, it's so lovely to be able to use 1 pea sized drop and a bath tissue to remove an entire face of make-up. Even pesky eye liner and mascara comes off without scrubbing your eyeball (which is painful). My skin feels rehydrated after being sucked of moisture all night and no irritation either!

I was a little hesitant to spend the money on yet another skincare company after I've tried almost everything out there. One of my Canadian friends told me about Lush and we made a bet over whether it would help my troubled acne-prone combination skin or not. When I set foot in an actual store a helpful associate at the Newbury St location in Boston recommended Ultrabland after none of the clay based cleaners appeared to be enough and I didn't want to rely solely on Ocean Salt everyday especially during harsh Boston winters and due to the fact that my skin tends to become immune to cleansing/ acne products after three months or so. I have much better skin now and couldn't be happier. It takes some time to get used to not using water but it really works. Its magic in a black bottle. Team with Ocean Salt, Tea Tree Water, and Vanishing Cream for combo/ acne prone skin. Since using Ultrabland with Dirty Shaving Cream I've noticed less Razor burn and ingrown hairs in general and in comparison to using Dirty Shaving with other Lush cleansers. It didn't leave my skin crystal clear but I have a much more even skin tone and when I do break out it doesn't last long and it is nowhere as bad as it used to be before I found this regimen. Needless to say I now owe my friend a Lush product of her choice, but I wanted to leave a review from a male perspective on the product as they can be few and far between. It can get a little messy, but there is a learning curve. Its a great product and at a great price when you learn the perfect amount for your face.

This product is perfect for removing makeup from my sensitive, acne-prone, dry patched, rosacea skin! I LOVE it! After using it, my skin feels moisturized and very smooth. It takes even the most stubborn of eye makeup off. Speaking of eyes, I think my eyelashes have gotten longer since using this product. Maybe it is because I am not using products with man-made ingredients or maybe it is because of all the nutrients found in this product. Either way, my wink is a whole lot fiercer and I am a very happy lushie. I do recommend using a toner after using this cleanser though. It helps get rid of any leftover wax.

Ultra Bland is one of my favorite Lush products. I usually use it at night, especially if I've gone out for a night with frineds and need to get my make up off. I have rosacea, so I need to be very careful what I put on my skin to avoid a really nasty flair up. I don't need to scrub my face roughly to get all of the make up off, so I can avoid irritating it that way. One of my favorite things about Ultra Bland is that it doesn't dry my skin out. I can use it, put on my medicine and go to bed with out worry that my skin will look red and irritated in the morning. I don't use it for my morning wash only because it can make my skin appear a little shiny. Not oily, exactly, but just a bit more then I like to start my day with.
