We put the Fresh in Handmade Cosmetics

At LUSH, we're expert peelers and know just how to slice, mash, squeeze and juice it. Fruit, that is! Our skin and hair care products are brimming with freshly juiced oranges, lemons and limes, steamed grapefruits, mashed avocados and hand-cracked coconuts- just to name a few. Our inventors have spent their years of expertise (and almost the entire contents of their fridge!) blending and creating skin and hair care products with little or no preservatives. Anything less than perfect was written off, until they had most effective products with the highest quantity of fresh ingredients possible.

So why is fresh best? Using active ingredients like fruits and vegetables means that the fresher the produce, the more beneficial it is for your skin and hair. Fresh fruits are packed full of vitamins, minerals and enzymes that diminish with additional processing and preservatives. They're incredibly effective at cleansing, brightening and providing your skin and hair with essential nutrients. Simply put; fresh ingredients add value for your hard-earned money!

We use pineapple, papaya, kiwi and mango juices in (the appropriately named) I Love Juicy shampoo to gently cleanse oily hair, leaving it shiny and light. Our Coco Lotion hand and body lotion contains freshly squeezed pineapple juice to brighten the skin, perfect for the colder months when you're spending more time indoors. And even though they don't taste as sweet, we certainly don't leave out the veg! Fresh asparagus is a key ingredient in our Ayesha Fresh Face Mask to tighten and tone pores, along with cleansing kiwi and softening avocado. At LUSH, we really do put the whole fruit in!
