Cocoa powder contains a residue of cocoa butter, giving it a silky texture that we use in our skincare and bath products for its skin-softening properties.
The cacao tree yields fruits in the form of red or dark brown pods. These pods contain up to fifty seeds, which are fermented to remove bitterness, then cleaned, roasted, cracked and ground into a thick, oily paste called chocolate liquor. The chocolate liquor is subjected to high pressure to separate the cocoa butter and cocoa powder. The powdered reside is the cocoa powder we use in our products.
