Fresh ingredients for your whole body

Posted In: Fresh

We know eating fresh fruits and vegetables is a surefire way to keep our minds and bodies healthy, but have you ever thought about their effects on your skin and hair? Truth is, they’re just as beneficial!

We’re about to launch 6 brand new products (take a look at the sneak peek in the latest edition of our catalog, Fresh Matters!) that are loaded with whole fresh ingredients that you’ll often see at your local grocery store. Let’s take a look at a few, and find out why they’re so fantastic for your entire body, inside and out.

Whole crushed strawberries

Berry season is upon us, hallelujah! Eating just 3.5 ounces of these juicy red nuggets provides you with 98% of your daily recommended daily intake of vitamin C: a miraculous vitamin that helps boost the immune system and promote cardiovascular health.

Not only are they nutritious and delicious with their healthy helping of vitamin C, strawberries have a lot to offer for your skin, too! We use whole crushed strawberries in our new D’Fluff Strawberry Shaving Soap, where they help to brighten the skin and leave it with a healthy glow.

Chopped parsley

Let’s be honest here: we usually see a sprig of parsley on the side of a plate of pasta and cast it aside in favor of the mountain of noodles before us. It may come as a surprise that parsley is actually a powerhouse of nutrition! A half-cup contains over 500% of your recommended daily intake of vitamin K, which is important to maintain healthy bones and aid in normal blood clotting.

We’ve used a healthy helping of freshly chopped parsley in our new Parsley Porridge soap for its nourishing, calming effects on the skin. Washing up with this vibrant green slice will leave skin feeling clean, soothed and softened.

Fresh pureed mangoes

What could be tastier than a fresh mango? Ripe, juicy and tropically delicious, these gorgeous fruits are packed full of nutritional benefits for your body and skin: they’re an excellent source of vitamin A and B6, calcium, potassium and antioxidants, making them one of the world’s most nutritious fruits! Consuming vitamin A is essential to keep your skin hydrated, and potassium helps control heart rate and blood pressure. Who knew such a delicious fruit could be so good for you?

Lucky for us, a mango’s benefits aren’t limited to just eating them—they’re mang-nificent on the skin too. We’ve included fresh mango pulp in our brand new Mangnificent Soap for its lovely cleansing and brightening abilities, and mango juice in our African Paradise Body Conditioner to help soften and moisturize skin, leaving it touchably soft and smooth.

We spend a whole lot of time thinking about healthy food choices, and here at LUSH we believe that our skin and hair should be treated to the same high-quality nutrition as our bodies.
