Buche de Noel: inspired by edibles!

LUSH Life

Many of this year’s holiday inventions were inspired by Christmas traditions, and Buche de Noel is no exception. This fresh limited edition facial cleanser shares its name with the classic French dessert, and it looks like a yule log too! Although it certainly looks edible, we’ve selected its ingredients for their effects on the skin rather than their taste, so resist the urge to take a nibble and use it on your skin instead… yule be glad you did!

We use finely ground almonds and kaolin clay to gently exfoliate away rough skin, and softening almond oil and cocoa butter to replenish moisture. We also add a touch of glycerin to help skin stay hydrated, which can be a challenge in the cooler winter months. Where you’d find a decadent chocolate icing coating the dessert, we use a nutrient-rich, skin-nourishing Nori seaweed to roll up our cleanser. Fresh Satsuma oranges help to brighten up dull-looking complexions and we add a shot of brandy to cleanse and tone (it IS Christmas after all!) Buche de Noel is lovely on all skin types and is formulated especially to nourish and brighten the skin, keeping it looking fresh and feeling fantastic all winter long. You’ll be ready for your holiday photo close-up in no time.

Although our Buche de Noel cleanser will leave your skin looking radiant, it won’t satisfy any cravings for sweet, sweet cake. If you’re feeling inspired to make your own edible version, check out this vintage episode of The French Chef with Julia Child, and let the master herself show you how it’s done!
