There are many facets to LUSH - our ethics, our beliefs, and our actions, but at the core of it all is our passion for creating beautiful and effective cosmetic products. Our founders are still in their labs, year after year, putting their combined expertise to work, and always pushing the bar higher.
At LUSH our approach to skin care is a philosophy based on meeting individual needs, not to fit you into boxes. We want to care for YOUR skin and not simply write off all of its complexities with a regime.
Using the freshest, most effective ingredients and blending them by hand is how we do it. And when you visit our shops we want to have a conversation with you, to listen to what your concerns are and help you choose the best products to meet those needs.
Erica Vega has spent many hours, days, and weeks in the UK working with, and learning directly from the LUSH founders. We asked her to share some of what she knows about the LUSH Philosophy and Skin Care....
When you escape to the tub, the bubble bath you sink into should be so thick and fluffy that you can wrap yourself into it. Our solid Bubble Bars do just that, and more.
Crumble one into your running bath water and you'll scent the water with gorgeous essential oils as it bubbles away. Lay back in the soft, fragrant abyss and float away to the most luxurious, comforting place imaginable.
Erica Vega is back in the tub to share her tips so you can create mounds of Hollywood-style bubbles (and have some fun too). That is, if you can make it through the entire video before running for the tub...

Creating Naked and packaging-free products at LUSH is at the core of our philosophy. In fact, 46% of our products are currently sold Naked. But really, who doesn't love it naked? However, there are some absolutely gorgeous ingredients that have incredible benefits for your hair and body that can't be made into a solid form. For those products we use bottles and pots, and we've done our best to source options that lessen our impact on the environment.
Shama, our Green Officer shares her easy tips on recycling and reusing our black pots and bottles.

For all the times your breath is less than heavenly, or anytime you feel the need to amp up your oral pleasure - it's time to hail a tab. Breath of God Toothy Tabs were inspired by our best-selling Gorilla perfume. But instead of perfuming your breath with essential oils, you'll be freshening it up with gentle powders and cleansing sandalwood, and a blend of vanilla and fennel which gives it a delicious taste of licorice.
Jeff shows us how to get our brush on for fresh breath and a sparkling smile.
Life at LUSH is crazy, inventive and tons of fun, and we love sharing that with our customers and staff.
And when you're having fun and making a product called FUN, it seems only right to spread the fun when there might not be quite so much of it where it's most needed. We've decided to create a global FUNd, supported by 2.5% of the total sales from the first year of FUN.
LUSH is a growing business, but it still feels like a family - a bigger, global family. The devastating 2011 earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear disaster in Japan affected the entire country, including our LUSH family in Japan. It was the largest earthquake (recorded) to have ever hit Japan. While the country is slowly being rebuilt, some effects of the disaster are harder to overcome.
Through our visits to Japan and the previous work we did with NGOs, we became aware that the situation for children in the affected areas is still very far from retuning to the normal fun of childhood. The children of the Fukushima area in particular are severely affected – where very real concerns over radiation levels mean that playing outside is too dangerous.
Despite decontamination efforts, many school playgrounds remain off limits and outdoor play in streets and parks is not possible - meaning that children are playing alone in their houses on computers more and more while exercise, and playing with friends is severely reduced.
We'll be working with NGOs and groups in the area to seek our suitable projects to fund. Like Charity Pot, we favor small grassroots commun...
