Pack It Up, Pack It In
We're not ashamed to say it - we get around.
We love it when you send us pictures of your trips when you spot LUSH shops in a new city, and the shots of your bags packed with our products safely included. Now that the warm weather is here, our thoughts naturally turn to vacations and time off to enjoy the season. Hopping on planes, trains, and automobiles. Travel by pedal, foot, and board. No matter where you're going this summer - to the lake for a weekend, a tour of a land afar, or backcountry to pitch a tent, let us be your trusty travel companion. Are you having a stay-cation in your city instead? Let's hang out.
Solid, naked products like shampoo bars, body butters, and toothy tabs are perfect for packing and you never have to worry about spillage, (or meeting size restrictions). Plus, shampoo bars and body butters can do double-duty. You can use a shampoo bar for your hair, as a body wash, and even as laundry soap in a pinch. Get scrubbed up and moisturize all in one handful with your favorite butter in a bar.

Packing 101
LUSH is a global business, and our North American branch of the family tree covers Honolulu to Halifax, and Prince George to Miami.
There is a lot of ground to cover - and just as much water! Many LUSH professionals travel widely and for as many various reasons as you might imagine…and then some. As well, LUSH events might call for any number of costumes, or at least wigs and other gag finery not to mention props, ingredients, and random materials; as a LUSH Trainer for over 7 years, I had all sorts of unusual, precious or just downright outrageous items packed in (and out- by security-) of my suitcases.
Good packing became an occupational requirement for me. Years of planning my self-expression into carry-on-sized collections for particular events have honed a few tried-and-true favorite packing tips. I use them for trips ranging from overnight to over-the-globe, and time and again they come in handy. Feel free to add yours in the comments below.
Know Thyself, And Thy Destination
Where are you going and what do you need while you’re there? Sounds simple enough, but if you’ve ever lugged clunky shoes around you never wore while away, a moment’s reflection now can save additional baggage fees later. This doesn’t have to be complicated, but it does require understanding your bare essentials for personal style, as well as possessing a clue about where you are going. The first one can take years to get right, but thankfully for the second one at least, there’s an app for that.

Homemade for Mother's Day: Baking Made with Love
This Mother's Day remember to treat your Mum to all things that make her happy.
After all, she's spent many years caring for you - tending your skinned knees, wiping your tears, and cheering you on. Call, send flowers, make a card - and if you're lucky enough to live close by, perhaps you'll invite her over for brunch or an old fashioned tea party. We've been busy in our kitchens testing and sampling new recipes for the occasion. And just to be thorough in the process, we sat down with a few cups of tea and ran a taste test to be completely sure that our vegan, gluten-free, and sugar-free baking would be just the right fit for teatime.
Here are two of our favorites:
Lemon Poppyseed Loaf
A comforting classic, this recipe was originally for 12 muffins, but it works equally as well as a loaf. It also has a blend of flours, which makes a big difference in gluten-free baking. Not a fan of maple syrup? You can substitute agave nectar or concentrated pear juice for the syrup. It will change the flavor slightly - the nectar and juice will result in sweeter muffins or loaf. The recipe is from Flying Apron's Gluten-free and Vegan Baking Book, by Jennifer Katzinger (published by Sasquatch Books). If you're vegan, gluten-free, or both, it's an incredible resource full of tasty recipes. Highly recommended.

5 Tubs To Soak Your Imagination In
Where would your imagination take a bath? What LUSH products would it use?
When we let ours wander, they naturally head on-line, especially to the great virtual playground Pinterest. Did you know LUSH is on there? Our board for Dream Bathrooms is where our favorite fantasy settings abound. Countless gorgeous bathrooms exist out there - here are five that make our water run hotter:

LUSH baths are anything but boring, and most of them are brightly colored extravaganzas. Some are filled with flower petals, and Big Blue contains arame seaweed. Oh, the fun we’d have enjoying the colors both in and outside this tub! We'd love to see a glass tub like this next to a giant aquarium to indulge our inner mermaids just a little bit more.

Grow Your Own LUSH Herb Garden

Fresh herbs are used every day in LUSH kitchens.
Whole bundles of herbs are inspected and prepared by our compounders for each batch they make of anything calling for an “infusion” or “decoction”. As well, they pour into our mixtures delicate essential oils from herbs and plant material gathered from across the globe. We start with material from nature, and rely on our vast knowledge about herbal medicine, aromatherapy and horticulture. Best-selling products like Angels On Bare Skin, New Shampoo Bar, and the entire FRESH Face Mask range just the start of the products that brim with herbal infusions, powders, essential oils, and sometimes, a flower too. Taking inspiration from these and other LUSH products, you can easily till your own herb garden before spring is over--and enjoy all the benefits these useful friends can offer.
Gardening--whether outside or deskside--is a great way to connect with nature. ...
