LUSH Buying Presents: Rose Oil
One of our favorite ingredients to use to create our luxurious products, is also one of the most expensive.
Agnes, one of our Buyers, takes a team to Turkey to see our rose supplier. They get a chance to not only pick roses, but also to see how the process of turning fresh roses into oils happens.

Charity Pot Gets Nevada Growing
Charitable Givings at LUSH goes beyond Charity Pot and donations. We also love to host parties in our shops with our Charity Pot partners to increase their visibility, and our employees volunteer year round across North America, (and even around the world).
Last Fall we held a contest in our shops asking our customers to help us find more worthy causes to support. Not only did we get some amazing suggestions, but we also had the pleasure of hosting 10 winners on our first-ever Customer Volunteer event in Gold Butte, Nevada with one of our Charity Pot partners, Friends of Nevada Wilderness. It was hot, hard work but a rewarding experience that no one will forget.
You can read more about the work they did here.

The Art of Massage
Studies show that when we do something kind for another person, our own happiness increases. One act of kindness can create a virtuous cycle that brings regular acts of love into your relationship. We're not just talking about THE act of love (although that may be the end result), we're talking about a soft, sensuous massage.
Start out with a Tender is the Night massage bar. This luxurious, heart-shaped bar is intended for one use (or two, if your partner is feeling generous). Crush the light, velvety bar between your hands and inhale the seductive scent of jasmine, ylang ylang and vanilla. The shea butter and almond oil melt in your hands, and onto the back and body of your loved one.
Now, the fun part.
Start at the top, shoulders and arms, and work your way down the back as you melt the butters onto the skin, hands gliding smoothly. Set the unused portion of the bar aside for them to use on you later, or go all the way and rub the entire bar all over their body from head to toe. Work your hands into the muscles, rubbing out any kinks or knots you find. Try to keep your hands on their body the entire time to keep your partner relaxed.
Massage everywhere.
Press your fingers up and widen them across the base of the scalp, rub around their ears, gently pull the earlobes. Massage the jaw, remind them to breathe deeply and release the tension in their face and body. Rub down the ne...

School of Henna
Long before LUSH was LUSH, Mark Constantine LUSH founder and inventor studied as a trichologist - someone who studies the health of the hair and scalp. With over 30 year of experience, Mark has been working with henna formulations since the late 1970s, and has even written a book on herbal hair colors. When it comes to hair, Mark is our resident expert.
While it has been many years since he started working in a hair salon, (now he spends his days tinkering in his lab inventing products and perfumes), Mark went back to the chair to teach a master class in henna. If you've ever had questions, or struggled with the best way to apply henna it's time to sit at the front of the class/ your computer, and take notes.
... there may be a test afterwards.

New Hair Resolutions
The relationship you have with your hair is a complex one. We agonize over its bad behavior, contemplate putting it into Rehab, and punish it with blow dryers and flat irons. Sometimes it's too thin, too thick, too limp, too fluffy, curly, and out of control. Sometimes we don't know what we've got until it's gone.

This year we're making resolutions for new hair. Whatever you want to change - bad habits, perming and coloring overload, or if you want to learn to accept your mane for what it is - now is the time to do it.
With all resolutions it helps to write it down, to make it official. If you're really committed to change ask for help; tell a friend. When you have someone else to be accountable to and not just yourself, it makes a world of difference. And with hair it's even easier - there's no hiding that ponytail when you've sworn to stop putting it up all of the time.

Or, if you have naturally curly hair but are locked into a tempestuous love affair with your flat iron and you've made a vow to break it off, everyone is going to know when you go back for that hot, steamy action. Make a resolution, and embrace your curls once and for all.
