Behind the Scenes in Santa's Other Workshop
While it's common knowledge that Santa and Rudolph use the North Pole as the head of their operations, they are also known to stop by our workshops in Vancouver and Toronto in preparation for the big day. Our factories have been buzzing for weeks as we carefully squeeze, chop, mix, blend, and whizz our fresh ingredients into creations made lovingly by hand. Have you been a good boy or girl this year? Maybe you'll find some of our gifts under the tree.
Go behind the scenes with us to see just some of the LUSH elves in action.

Cosmetics with a Conscience: LUSH Featured in RYOT
Our beloved Hilary Jones, LUSH Ethics Director was featured in an article this week on RYOT.
Here's a snapshot of the article, "Lust is LUSH":
Cosmetics with a Conscience
“Since the late 1970s, the founders behind LUSH have been involved in the cruelty-free movement. They pioneered it in the early days when no one was listening to the arguments and the road was a lonely one,” said Hilary Jones, Ethics Director for LUSH Cosmetics. “We don’t know any other way to do it,” she said.
Their ethos and quest for responsible manufacturing is evident in everything that LUSH produces. Most products are sold packaging-free to reduce waste, but when requested or absolutely necessary, products are wrapped in 100% recycled paper or reusable, material cloth. It doesn’t end there; Lush also makes consistent efforts to reduce the amount of energy they use to manufacture their products in the first place, and refuse to source any of their raw materials and ingredients from companies who conduct animal testing. The result? A booming brand that people have grown to love and trust, and products that consumers with a conscience can buy knowing the environment and its critters have not been sacrificed at any point in the making.
Though Jones insists that these unusual (but heart-warming) business practices are deeply engrained into the DNA of the company, she does acknowledge that sometimes, they’re not the most practical. “Being green can save you money, but sometimes it costs you money,” she said, “for example, our de...

It's Official: We're Friends of Nevada Wilderness
"The most amazing part about volunteering with this passionate group? They not only brought us to this amazing area of Nevada, but shared so many stories with us that I felt like we really learned something tangible. It was not a volunteer experience where I showed up, handed out some papers and got a free t-shirt. I felt like a necessary part of the process. We got our hands dirty, learned some Nevada history and ecological practices and they made me feel truly appreciated. I would highly recommend it to anyone who is spending a couple of days in Vegas to break away from the strip and make a difference. Las Vegas is meant to be a 'pleasure land,' but I clearly saw the true pleasure land of Nevada at Gold Butte last weekend. " Corinne Shaw
My, what big hearts you have! This past September, we ran a contest in our shops across North America: nominate a local grass roots charity for a $1000 prize and be entered to win a volunteer trip with one of our Charity Pot partners. We asked, and you answered! You gave us 3,800 answers, to be exact. We were absolutely overwhelmed with the response! Well done, you. Next came the fun part: randomly drawing ten lucky winners to join us on a volunteer trip with Friends of Nevada Wilderness to Gold Butte, Nevada. Our winners came from Ohio, New York, Manitoba, Florida, Ontario, Alberta, Maryland and Pennsylvania- all over the map! On the weekend of November 16-18th, we all arrived in beautiful Nevada, ready to get our hands dirty planting native species in the expansive Gold Butte ...
