Emotional Brilliance: Cruelty-Free Color

When Emotional Brilliance launched in July 2012, our exciting new range was noted for its imagination and the expansion of the concept on what makes us feel beautiful.
Using EB taps into a kaleidoscope of thoughts and feelings and how they play out in colors. It doesn’t hurt there may be dry ice swirling around you as you select your colors. What we hope isn’t lost in the smoke is how Emotional Brilliance is totally cruelty-free!
The range is 100% vegan with zero animal testing anywhere in its supply chain. Emotional Brilliance assures that ethics don’t have to be scrapped for beauty. LUSH has offered beauty without cruelty through our entire history. Even farther back in previous companies and ventures along the way, our LUSH founders were advocates for the end and banishment of animal testing practices—and cleverly coming up with their own way of doing things.
There were two choices made early on in LUSH kitchens:
1. Use reliably safe ingredients, with a recorded history of safe use in cosmetics.
2. Test on humans, not animals.
Along the way, the range evolved to use hundreds of such safely recorded ingredients, and enlisted countless human volunteers during various stages of production. Meanwhile, our policies with supplies ensuring their supply chains are cruelty free have grown alongside the rest of the business. We ...
Fighting Animal Testing: Grayson Loving

Grayson Loving works at our shop on NW 23rd Avenue in Portland, Oregon.
He is also a part-time Traveling Training Liaison with the LUSH Training Team, and delivers regular sessions to staff in Washington State, Oregon and California. Grayson started at the Orlando Airport LUSH in 2009, and has developed a passion not only for LUSH products, ingredients and lore—but also the strong ethical principles of the brand. Most notably as a vegan, Grayson identifies with LUSH’s fight against animal testing—and has the Sparring Hare logo tattooed to prove this dedication.
You must really connect with LUSH Fighting Animal Testing!
One of the reasons I have worked for LUSH for years now and am so committed is because I really like the idea of educating customers about animal rights and animal testing.
What drew you to the logo as a tattoo design?
When I saw the Fighting Animal Testing logo, I thought it was beautiful. I thought the image itself, being a silhouette, was great, and I was really struck by it. I knew that I wanted that as a tattoo to commemorate my dedication to LUSH and to animal rights and protecting and fighting for animals.
Was it your idea to put them in clothing?
Yeah, I did—for me, animal rights are a really huge part of my beliefs and I have other animal rights-themed tattoos. It’s really important to me that it be unique, and something that has a story to it. I wanted something a little more ornate. I’ve been trying to move in a direction of my tattoos being more intri...
Show Us Your LUSH Stash
Why don’t you tell us a little bit about yourself?
Hello! My name is Denise and I work as a Brand Ambassador and Public Relations Intern for LUSH in New York City! I moved here from Ireland over a year ago and have made LUSH my home ever since.
Now that we know who you are, let’s get down to business! What’s that in your bathtub?
This is a snap shot of what I like to use in the bath! I love everything bath related from LUSH. I always like to have a concoction of my favorite LUSH Bath Bombs, bubble bars and melts stored in my bathroom, waiting and ready to use at the end of a long, cold day! My all-time favorite Bath Bomb is Twilight. I could bathe in it every day. I love coming up with my own bath cocktails too. Lately I’ve been using Sex Bomb with French Kiss bubble bar and Dreamtime. Just beautiful!
Why are you using these products in particular? What do you like about them?
Who can resist hopping into a nice warm bath at the end of a long day? I love using my LUSH Bath Bombs. They are full of so many beautiful essential oils and are the perfect way to relax. They make my bathroom smell amazing, add a dash of color and bring such joy to my day. I recently had a customer tell me that she has a LUSH bath every Monday night because it now makes her look forward to the week ahead on Sunda...

In India, Holi is a Hindu festival observed on March 27th. It celebrates the colorful arrival of spring and waves farewell to the gloomy winter. Giant bonfires are lit in city squares, and residents gather to sing and dance in celebration. The festivities continue when people throw perfumed, colored powders at one another for a rainbow of messy, colorful fun.
Sound appealing? Recreate the splattery, vibrant revelries of Holi at home in the bath with our bright range of FUN! Choose your favorite shades and have a sudsy, playful body painting session with your favorite bathing partner(s) to ring in the new season!

Across the Bay of Bengal in Thailand, Songkran is a spring festival celebrated from April 13th to 15th that marks the beginning of the Thai New Year. Easter inventions: fresh from our imagination
Here at LUSH, we invent our own products and fragrances. It isn't always easy to come up with fresh new ideas year after year, but luckily we get inspired by nearly everything: nature, cultural traditions, music, pop culture and our lovely customers. Wondering what inspired our new Easter treats? Read on!
The Brightside bubble bar
A groovy, swirly bubble bar inspired by The Monty Python film "Life of Brian". Its fresh, uplifting aroma is fondly referred to by Mark, the creator as "triple orange" because of its Sicilian mandarin, tangerine and bergamot oils and is meant to keep you looking on the bright side of life.
The Carrot reusable bubble bar
We know the Easter bunny's favorite snack is a carrot, so we need to have this one around at Easter time to lure him in! Buchu, lemon and bergamot oils create a fresh, fruity fragrance (not at all like a real carrot) to elevate spirits and inspire thoughts of spring.
Henata Bath Bomb
Our inventors have wanted to make a piñata Bath Bomb for ages, and finally they've done it! Smash Henata against the side of your tub to release her surprises, then relax and celebrate the arrival of spring with her fresh citrusy aroma.
Easter Egg Hunt soap
The product inventors were inspired by the bustling e...
