Happy Christmas, with Love
And so this is Christmas. Another year is over. We hope you had fun.
When we look back and reflect on the last 365 days and all that we've experienced - we know that we couldn't have done any of it without you. You've welcomed us into your communities as we opened new shops; you've celebrated our new product inventions (and have been as excited as we were); and you've supported us as we continued our fight against animal testing, protested pipelines, and stood up for animals in the fur industry. You've also helped us expand our reach with Charity Pot, and we were lucky to have some of you join us on a Charity Pot trip too.
This isn't just about soap either. We love all of the ways you connect with us - whether you're stopping by your local shop, chatting on the Forum, or posting pictures, sharing stories, and keeping us entertained on Facebook and Twitter.
We don't take any of this for granted. We know we aren't the only cosmetics shop around and we're very grateful that you choose to share your bath and shower with us. But most importantly, that you're truly a part of the LUSH family.
From all of us at LUSH, we wish you and yours the happiest of holidays.

Fur Trim is a Trap: The True Cost of Fur
What do you see in fur trim?
This December we've partnered with Fur Bearer Defenders to shed light on the true cost of fur, and the realities of the fur industry. As part of our campaign we had a brave volunteer caught in a leg hold trap in the window of our Queen St store in Toronto for 24 hours.
It was a dramatic and eye opening experience for everyone.

Thank you for not wearing fur.
...Vegan Wish List: Vegan in Your Life? 10 Gift Ideas
Once upon a time, Vegan was a bad, misunderstood word along with patchouli, tea tree, and long hair. Nowadays choosing a plant-based diet and lifestyle is just another norm and the planet is all the better for it. Thankfully so is the use of patchouli, tea tree, and long, glorious hair!

With 83% of our products made vegan, it's easy to shop for vegans at LUSH. Contrary to popular belief vegans are rather fond of bathing so you're in luck here. These are our to picks for vegan-friendly products:

'Tis the Season: Skin Eruptions
At some point all of the stress and hectic running around of the season catches up with you. For some, that means spending the holidays clutching the Kleenex box. For others it means unplanned decorations on their faces and bodies, instead of decking the halls. It happens.
This is what we keep in our emergency kit for such skin care emergencies:
Grease Lightning: Super effective thyme, tea tree and rosemary infusion shrink mini volcanoes, zap spots, and treat your clogged pores and inflammation. Consider it your skin superhero.
Tea Tree Water: Don't use a toner with skin irritating alcohol. Antiseptic tea tree oil gently clears out blemish causing bacteria, while grapefruit and juniper water balance oil production. Spritz away.
Mask of Magnaminty: Make dirt a distant memory with our deep cleansing face and back mask. China clay and fresh peppermint dig way down into your pores, aduki beans exfoliate flaky skin, while honey calms and soothes. Amazing.
Irritations aren't only the realm of your face, (and we're not referring to your mother-in-law either). Your poor skin can have troubles all over.
Dream Wash: Sensitive, sore skin will be awash with relief with our gentle, whipped creation made with soothing aloe vera, lavender, rose, tea tree, and calamine. No lather, just hop...
Energy Saving Tips for the Season of Lights
There's nothing quite like the holiday season. We brighten up the darkest, coldest months of the year with friends and family, parties, food and drink, trees, decorations, and lights. While tons of fun, it can be exhausting too. And it's not just an energy drain on people - the holidays are a huge drain on power resources too.
Here are some easy ways to cutback on extreme energy usage. You're not only doing the environment a favor, you'll also be saving some money. It's a win-win situation for all!
Switch to LED Christmas Lights
LED Christmas lights use 90% less electricity than regular Christmas lights, produce less heat, and are more affordable than ever before. Try fewer lights and dress your tree with more ornaments instead. And when your tree is all lit, turn off the other lights in the house to compensate. It's much cozier and higher impact this way.
Quality Not Quantity
Use a timer to schedule lights to come on when it's dark, and to turn them off when you go to bed. While it's tempting to leave them on all night, it can also be a safety hazard not just an energy drain. Of course, for special nights and to help guide certain reindeer you may want to leave the lights on all night - just ensure you don't do it every night. Otherwise you might end up on the Naughty list.
Power At The Flick of a Switch
When decorating, use a power strip to centralize the cords. You'll drain less energy overall, ...
