The Bokeo Development Fund is a grassroots, community-oriented organization that helps to create toilet facilities in the remote villages of Bokeo Province, Lao PDR. Their aim is to work with communities to build a safe, healthy and sustainable sanitation environment. The Bokeo Development Fund has been in operation since 2009 and has built over 100 toilets in 6 rural villages. BDF only employs local people and only uses locally sourced materials. The entire community is directly involved in a cooperative push for change.
LUSH funds helped supply locally sourced construction materials for 80 toilet facilities.
