InHerit celebrates indigenous heritage through progressive collaborations that educate, conserve and advocate for native languages, traditions and rights to the past. They envision a world in which respect for cultural diversity will create global equality from the roots up.
LUSH funds went towards the costs of the Participatory Heritage Mapping in 5 Mayan Communities around Lago de Atitlan. The funding provided for intra-library meetings, communications, cultural promoter participation and GPS/Computer software. This mapping project will enable the local community to gain more information about their traditional territory and advocate on behalf of their rights.
