PEG-6 Caprylic / Capric Glycerides & PEG60 Almond Glycerides

PEG-6 caprylic/capric glycerides and PEG-60 almond glycerides is a blend of solubilizing agents that we use to carry the natural oils into a water-based system (such as your bath).

It consists of very mild surface active agents, also known as surfactants, derived from natural ingredients like almond and coconut oils.

Surfactants have two distinct parts to their structure – a hydrophilic head that likes to mix with water and a hydrophobic tail that likes to mix with oils. This system allows the surfactant to disperse fats and oils in water and prevent separation.

As it is a blend of non-ionic surfactants, the glycerides are very stable and thus do not cause irritation when they comes into contact with the skin.

This ingredient helps to give a smooth feel and binds the ingredients together, making sure that you get their full benefit as you soak in the bath.

We use PEG-60 almond glycerides and PEG-6 caprylic/capric glycerides in our Happy Blooming bath melt as an emulsifier, helping to give the dry oil feel that Helen wanted when she was inventing the product.
