This is a really great product. I use it in the shower usually and it is so invigorating and refreshing, though somehow cozy as well :) AND THE SMELL! It smells amazing! Just the right combination of apple and mint. Even though it's my first time trying out the soap, the smell makes me nostalgic, because it's just one of those smells you always remember and connect with good shower times :) Only thing I don't like is that it doesn't last as long as I thought it would. Maybe because it's naturally made top-to-bottom, I'm not sure. But it dwindled pretty fast. Also the wax is a little annoying, because even now, there's this bit that is stuck in a crack that is not coming out, but it is such a minor setback compared to the beauty of the smell and the actual soap! The color is pretty too!

This soap is certainly not for everyone. It's incredibly minty, with a back-scent of granny smith apple (sweet but tart). I adore the scent combination, it is quite up my alley but I can see where this would turn some people off. You can feel the menthol-type effect on your skin (especially more sensitive areas), but it is very refreshing to me. It lathers well, isn't drying and makes my skin very clean.

I was so excited about this product without even trying it well! Bought a big block and shared it with the family. It doesn't lather well at all! No matter how much of the soap I use. The smell is really refreshing but I can live without it. Nothing special but doesn't compare with the better soaps like Honey I Washed the Kids and Rockstar.

I really wanted to like this soap. Unwetted, it has a pleasantly minty scent with spicy undertones; but wetted, it had a weirdly oatmealish smell that was neither sufficiently minty or spicy. It lathers ok, but not great, and it dried out my skin somewhat. I've stopped using it because of the scent. And the wax was really annoying to get off--it got stuck in the crannies of the soap and my fingernails.

I really loved the idea of this soap, since I'm a lover of most things minty. And I love the smell of the bar itself. However when I use the soap I feel like the apple aspect of the soap shines through more than the mint(ie I don't feel the menthol on my skin and the fragrance is overpowered by the apple). I guess I was just hoping for a minter soap...

I don't think I'll buy this soap again, but it was fun to try out. :) Great soap, just not exactly my personal preferance.

I bought this product because I wanted to try a lush soap and it smelled amazing. I took it home and couldn't be more impressed. The scent is so invigorating and deodorizing and it leaves the skin squeeky clean and supple. It's great to use before moisturizing (especially on feet!)

I can't say enough about this soap!! I loved the name so much that I decided to try it and now I'm hooked! Aside from the cool name, this soap is visually appealing and quite refreshing. Best of all, the scent is awesome! I can smell it on me after my shower and the whole bathroom smells great too. I also store Demon in the Dark in various drawers and bins so that everything inside has that mysterious, intoxicating scent I LOVE! Please, LUSH, don't ever discontinue this soap!!!!!

When I first lathered up Demon in the Dark, I was confused as to why one side of it wasn't lathering. Then I realized that the directions say to peel off the layer of black wax before use! Ha! My mistake! But anyway, I wasn't so fond of the smell of straight mint at first, but once you get in the shower with it, it smells sooo clean! It left my skin so soft and refreshed. Also, the mint action with the steam... perfect for a cold!

I received a sample of this soap with my first order. I love the smell! When I got it to lather and actually use the soap, I loved how long the scent lasted after my shower. My only problem was that it didn't seem to lather very well. I plan on buying a bar. Hopefully it was just a bad sample.

This soap is amazing! The wax was actually a little fun to peel off and didn't give me trouble at all or take any chunks out of the soap. Once in the shower, the smell of apples and mint is definitely present, although it has a bit of a masculine scent somehow while ice blue, another minty soap, is more feminine. My favorite part about this soap is the deep green color and the cooling sensation on my skin while and after using. Perfect after a hot day!

If it weren't for the wax, this would be my absolute favorite Lush product. The scent is definitely an acquired one, it doesn't smell distinctly minty, I'm not sure how to describe it exactly. But people either love or hate it. I think it has a soothing and "clean" smell. The wax makes a mess though, which is the only drawback. Otherwise, this soap is perfect for those hot summer days where you're sweating like crazy; it does clean very effectively and I like to buy a small separate bar to use for my face because it works gently but effectively on my oily skin without drying it out. I got a relatively small bar that was pretty expensive (over $9) but it does last an incredibly long time.

A good friend of mine bought this soap for me because his nickname is Demon. I have been using it ever since and it just smells amazing and I love the feeling it leaves on my body once I am out of the shower.

This soap was my first LUSH purchase. I'll be back for more.

The soap smells divine - minty with devilish undertones. It gives my olfactory senses a quick kick in the bum every morning when I shower. I lather head to toe, and the mint and clove tingle and tickle all the way down. I do have sensitive skin, though, and this soap has brought back bumps on my arms and upper thighs that I hadn't seen in years. But I like the soap so much I'm going to keep using it until I order some different ones.

Also, I don't know if my soft water is to blame or what, but my 5 oz bar has lasted only one month. My friends promised me it would last two or three. I'm running into the same problem with my solid shampoo. I think the products are still worth the price, even if they only last one month, but I can't figure out why my experience is so different from everyone else's.

I love this thing. Just peel the wax away from the edges, don't completely remove it, and it makes a great soap dish :)

I use it every day, mostly for my face, so i can get the benefits of the mint's through smell. At first i was intrigued by the tittle, but being a sucker for mint, this product blew me away!

For one thing, this is THE most attractive soap; I knew I would love it as soon as I saw the gorgeous swirls of green and black. I tend to be drawn to mint, but never would have thought of combining it with apple; it works so well though! This is a winner!
The spearmint, in particular, is very prevalent, but you can definitely smell the apple and clove as well. It's great to wash with - invigorating, mysterious, and leaves you squeaky clean with a tingly feeling. And to those complaining about the wax - I found it easy enough to peel off, and it definitely enhances the overall look.
This is not the soap to use if you're looking for something extra-moisturizing, and the smell doesn't hang around as long as I wish it would (neither does the soap, because I just can't stop scrubbing myself with it!) so know what you're buying. For the Demon and I, though, this is destined to be a long and passionate affair =)

This is not my favorite Lust product by far. It has a pleasant smell and lathers well with a wash cloth in the shower. It does get a melty slime on the bottom when left in the tub soap dish. The main downfall is that, for a while after the shower, it feels like you've slathered Vicks Vapor Rub on your bottom. I'll be sticking with the Sultana of Soap. Always wonderful, never gets melty or slimy.
