First, I would like to warn you that this product will make your tub look like a sand dune if you don't clean adamantly. There's sand and there's a ton of it.

Also, because of the sand, this is a tougher product to use. It's almost a bit painful to rub directly onto skin so the best way is to get it lathered up in your hand and then wash. The only problem with that is it's a very low-lathering soap so it can be tricky. I personally love the scratchy feel and it makes my skin super-just-out-of-the-ocean-smooth. But be warned, this is not for everyone.

It might just be me but I don't really detect much scent from this. It's subtle and doesn't really stick to the skin, which can be good if you don't like overpowering scents like Karma.

Amazing results if you're willing to put up with the mess and the tricky washing method. Might be a good Idea to use another soap and just switch this one in once in a while.

I bought this because I was attracted by the smell and also I needed a shower scrub. The sales person at Lush recommended this to me and warn me it may be a little more harsh than others. But thats the soapI was looking for.
When I tried it in the shower, I was pleasantly surprise! I scrub the bar of soap on my arms first... and realised it is quite rough and and leaves my skin smooth but a bit dry.
Conclusion is, you may only use this soap only on certain parts of the body. :-) arms, back, feet... and it will leave u feeling very clean! Uh... other parts of the body? Well, just use any shower gel...I used a body lotion afterwards to moisturize myself. I love this soap!

I love this soap! It leaves my skin so soft and it helps control ingrown hairs. I love a good scrub, this soap gives a great scrub. I shower in the morning this soap is great wake up call with the strong citrus sent and the scrub. It gets my body going.

I do not use this soap in some areas of the body because of the sand. I have a sand free bar that I use in that area. I also use a different soap to lather up before I shave so I do not dull my blade. Then I go over top my freshly shaved skin with sandstone. MMMM magic happens, it helps prevent ingrown hairs and gives my legs a super soft shine after. My legs have never been so happy after a shave, especially when I fallow up with a message bar or my favorite lotion.

I could have a closet full of this soap.

I originally purchased this item as part of a housewarming gift for a friend to use in his kitchen but held it back because I purchased something else for him. After showering with this product, I'm really glad I didn't give it to him for a few reasons:
#1, this would've been horrible for washing hands in a kitchen because of all the messy sand
#2, the grit in this soap is HARSH, and no matter which way you turn the bar you can't escape it. My skin is more "normal" than "sensitive" and when I attempted to use it slowly and gently, it still felt like I was a cooking pan being scoured.
The only reason I'm not throwing it away is because I plan to use it on the bottoms of my feet. I would definitely not purchase this soap again, nor would I recommend or gift it to a friend.

I LOVE this soap. The combination of the sand and light citrus scent leaves me super silky and smelling great. I used to use the Buffy Bar (also amazing) but it melted faster than chocolate in the shower and for the price it wasn't worth it.

One of the Lush girls recommend the sandstone bar and I've been hooked. NOTHING has compared to it, even the buffy bar. The only downside is that you will have sand in your shower but a simple rinse cleans out the tub.

Definitely recommend if you want to be silky smooth and smelling great.

This soap smells absolutely incredible! It has a gorgeous citrus scent. But, the sand is a little too gritty for my liking. However, if you like to exfoliate daily, this is a perfect way to do so.. Like a 2-in-1 soap and scrub.

I needed a product that would remove the pesky residue left under my arms each day from stick deodorant usage (that's from NON-LUSH deodorants!) I used to scrub and scrub, but felt like it never QUITE came off. As usual, LUSH came through. This sandy soap did the trick. However, the non-sand part doesn't last long enough, even if you keep it dry between showers, and only use it on one body part! And there is an awful lot of sand content in this soap. Too much, really, considering the price, and the fact that you don't need much sand to do the job. I like the scent, though. And I am residue-free, at least as long as this bar lasts! Thanks, LUSH.

Quite simply the best soap in the entire universe. I have a thing for exfoliating shower items, as well as a thing for sand, so sandstone is pretty much my dream shower product. It smells so fresh and lemon-y that I sometimes just have to smell it even when I'm not in the shower. And the exfoliation from the sand does wonders for my skin. I'd actually like there to be MORE sand in it! If Lush ever gets rid of this product I will actually cry.

I got this as a sample and totally fell in LOVE with it. It has a citrus smell with a hint of muskiness due to the Sandstone in it. It ended up being a great moisturizer and left my skin as smooth as Silk. The smell lasted Ages after my shower. I highly recommend this soap. :) <3

My husband and I traveled to Anaheim and I visited the Lush store for the 1st time in California! I bought the Sandstone soap and absolutely love it. It is the best exfoliant in soap form I have found on the market.

This soap smells AMAZING, and lathers nicely, but the sand was a bit much, and what prevents me from falling in love with this soap. I'm not talking a little sand sprinkled throughout a bar of otherwise creamy soap. I'm talking a bar of pure sand. Over the top exfoliating action if you like that sort of thing, but too rough for me. I will use the bar I have until it's gone because the fragrance is so heavenly, but I don't think I'll be getting it again.

This is the most amazing soap I have ever used. I have very bumpy skin, my legs, chest, and back gets little bumps all over it and this is the only stuff that I have found that gets rid of my bumpy skin. My boyfriend who is super sensitive and allergic to alot of things was finally convinced to use this and he also is a sandstone junkie now. It also works wonders for getting off deodarant, you barely need to scrub and it washes right off no residue. It also smells absolutely amazing I love the lemon scent. I have tried all of the other exfoliating soaps and this is the only one that keeps me coming back to Lush.

I received this as a sample with a previous Lush order, and was immediately in love as soon as I opened it. It has such a fresh, clean smell. It is also a wonderful scrubbing soap. It has an excellent gritty texture, but is gentle enough that it doesn't feel like you're tearing an entire layer of skin off. This is great to use on the more dry areas of the body, like feet, elbows and knees, but works great everywhere else, too!

This product is wonderful: it smells divine, makes skin extremely soft, and exfoliates! It's wonderful for after a work out or after shaving to leave a polished, sexy goddess in the midst of your bathroom!

It can be a little rough for those with extremely sensitive skin (i.e. me), but if you rub it between your hands at first and use alternating sides, it isn't quite as abrasive. I love it! (And my boyfriend does, too--he can't keep his hands off of me!) The sand can also leave a little bit of a gritty feel, but if you give yourself a quick rinse, there's no problem whatsoever. (Just remember to tell your guy--who may try to skip steps--to not be a hydrophobic and give himself a rinse off before he jumps out of the shower. Otherwise, he may find some sand in his clothes.)

Trust me, everyone who brushes against you will comment on how silky-soft your skin is. And it's the perfect confidence booster for when you have a huge presentation, exam (hooray, college...), etc., to make you feel ready to dominate! Speaking of college, it can fit in any budget for those who are already tightening their belts but need a lil' guilty pleasure. (Or for those who just want a guilty pleasure, this will leave you with cash in your wallet and make you feel like you just paid for a spa treatment.) And its longevity is another great benefit! What more could you ask for in a bar of soap with so much "KA-POW!"? :)

I got this soap as a sample in one of my Lush orders and after using it for the first time immediately ordered more. Not only do I adore the scent, but it is a wonderful exfoliator. I love to use it on my legs right before I shave them!

Also, of course it's scratchy - it has *sand* in it!
