I bought this to help with the little bumps on the back of my arms from those tiny blonde ingrown hairs, because it contained charcoal. It did help a lot but what I loved was the smell. It smells absolutely incredible, like a warm licorice. It's extremely mellow and sexy, but sadly the scent wears of within a few hours and is only noticeable when very close to skin. I would recommend this before a date. ;)

I loved the name of this body butter and I liked the idea of charcoal for exfoliating. However, You Snap The Whip didn't quite live up to my expectations. It didn't last as long as Buffy. It exfoliated really well the first couple times I used it, but I think most of the charcoal was at the top since the exfoliating got weaker each time I used it. The smell was just okay. It left a lot of residue on the bath tub and stained my shower curtain so badly I couldn't get it out.

I might give it another try some day down the road, but all in all, I think it could use some improvements.

I love the smell and feel of this bar. It is unique and does what it promises. I 100% agree with other posters who say it disappears way too fast. I keep it in a dry place, but that doesn't help. I do love it and would maybe buy some more if the cost was lowered. It does leave a dingy grey ring around the tub as well..but my tub is sooo soft!

My sometimes-dry, sometimes-troubled, always-sensitive skin felt great after using this body butter! The small granules are a great exfoliator, and the non-greasy moisturizer made my skin feel silky after my shower.

BUT... other reviewers aren't kidding. This bar won't last long. After only one shower (staying out of the water with the bar), I think half the bar was gone! I'll probably cut the remainder into pieces so that I can get more than two uses out of this. This bar is good, but it's not that good... The short lifespan makes this a very precious item, and as a result it's one I probably won't buy again (or at least not often).

I returned to our new Lush store in Austin, TX, (side note: I LOVE you guys!) to try a body butter. I've found boundless happiness from your bath bombs/melts/fizzes and wanted to branch out a little more. I wasn't truly convinced with the demo in the store, but I took it home with me and WOW! This stuff is really great, smells wonderful and leaves my skin so so so so soft! I hate that it is disappearing quickly after only 2 uses, though. :(

I tend to get mild breakouts around my shoulders, butt and thighs and after I used this body butter 2 times, it cleared up most of my breakouts, especially on my lower body. I was really happy to see how much clearer my skin had gotten and I liked how the bar smelled and that it didn't leave a greasy residue...that was my only problem I had with the Buffy bar...for my skin type, the charcoal exfoliation worked like a charm! This is my favorite LUSH product simply because it worked so well and helped me gain a little more confidence in a swimsuit :)

I was instructed in the store how to use this stuff when I mentioned wanting to try a new exfoliating scrub. You don't use this stuff after showering-- put it on BEFORE you wash up. Wet your skin, rub it on, then wash it all off before using your favorite soap or shower gel. Your skin will feel AMAZING after that! It seems a bit messy at first, but I was happy to discover that all the charcoal that rinses off of me helps clear up the tub ring! My only complaint about this awesome product is that for the price, you don't get a lot of full-body use for it, when compared to the Sugar Babe scrub or other products.

Buffy is the only Body Butter I've ever used (and I love it), so I thought I'd try You Snap The Whip during my last Lush visit. Bad idea. I've used this product once, and I've probably only got one more use left. There is a distinct sour smell to this product that is a bit of a turn-off, and it's not moisturizing at all. And it doesn't deserve the "Hardcore scrub" label either. If you really want an exfoliator, use Buffy. I won't be buying this product again.

I use this after shower, step away from the stream, rub it on and then rinse it off.
I LOVE how it makes my skin feel like, so soft and so smooth! The exfoliation isn't that extreme but it's okay for me. I love love love love love how it smells, just like the comforter! And the smell lingers too!
It didn't get dirt everywhere for me. But it's gone too quick. I have only used it a couple times and now less than half is left.

I love King of Skin and Buffy, and I was hoping for an alternative. Unfortunately, this isn't it. For one thing, my skin didn't feel even the least bit moisturized after using it. And also, the bar disintegrates much too rapidly for the price. Whereas Buff and King of Skin I can use for weeks at a time, this lasted for three showers - AND I had to moisturize after! It is messy to apply and does leave marks on the bathtub, but I found that it rinsed off my body easily and with a quick spray of water (while it was still wet), the marks in the bathtub also went away.

This body butter smells so amazing - I love it! Yes, it's messy in my shower, so I tend to use it at the gym :) Still, sfterward, my skin smells and feels so great, it's definitely worth any mess.

I absolutely cannot live without this. Yes, its gone in 4-5 showers, costs a pretty penny, is messy. But its a total mood lifter and i feel amazing after a shower that ends with YSTW. Dont use it in the tub, its for the shower only.

I love this! Because of the dark color I can actually see where I've applied the body butter on my skin. It rinsed off without any mess for me. And it smells wonderful! I will be purchasing this again. Skin was left soft and smelling lovely.

First off, I'm disappointed this lovely product received so many negative reviews. If you know how to use this product properly, it can both last a long time and doesn't get messy.

I'm absolutely in love with the sweet berry smell of YSTW. It's the exact same scent as Sweetie Pie, so if it's the smell you're going for, Sweetie Pie is the cheaper alternative. Every time I've used this body butter, my skin's felt incredibly soft and clean.

The best way to use this is to get your body nice and wet, then turn OFF the shower. Get the bar, rub it in streaks all over yourself (arms, legs, chest, backside, legs) then put the bar away. Then start rubbing the streaks into your skin until you're grey all over. When you're satisfied, turn on the shower again and rinse it all off.

If you spot any grey blotches in your shower or tub, rinse those away immediately and you shouldn't have any trouble with messiness.

My bar lasted me roughly 8-9 times due to this. If you liked this bar but considered it to be melting away too fast or too messy, please reconsider with this method! If you do it right, it shouldn't melt too quickly or leave a mess.

Love coalface, so I thought I'd try this as it's similar. I really love, love this product. If you are looking for something less abrasive than Buffy, you may want to try this. It smells much better, however, it's not quite as moisturizing. I alternate between Buffy & Snap. I keep both products outside my shower & haven't had any problems with extreme melting. I also splash the back of my shower with water and the mess is gone. I haven't had as much troubles as others so I'd recommend this!!

yes, it turns your shower black, but it does rinse away effortlessly. it smells fruity & wonderful & will make your bathroom smell great, too. when i first got this bar i used it on my feet exclusively. because it's so gritty, i thought i couldn't possibly use it anywhere else as it might be too harsh. it melted away after about 4 times when i used it on my feet, but my feet were so luxuriously soft and looked very well cared for. after reading more about YSTW online, i decided to try it on my face as an exfoliator because my skin was going through a very rough phase: cystic spots on my chin, millia on my cheeks and very dry flaky patches on my chin and cheeks. the dry skin on my chin was from using benzoyl peroxide products to clear up the cysts. the very first time i used YSTW on my face, i was amazed & extremely pleased with the results. no, it didn't clear up the cysts--they were hormonal, and possibly the result of my skin being too dry--but it moisturized all the rough spots and cleaned up the clogged pores. i leave it on my face as i shower to reap the cleansing benefits of the charcoal and it really cleans out my pores & takes off all the dry skin flakes i get around my nose. i have oily skin and YSTW makes it so soft. even though it contains oils, it does not cause my skin to break out. i do not use this bar every time i shower as it is deep-cleaning. i use it anywhere from one to 3 times a week, depending on what my skin's doing. this routine makes the bar last much longer obviously, and i do keep it on a little plastic tray (got from a take-out bao place; it's perfect) outside my shower so it doesn't sit in water & melt. since using it as a regular part of my grooming, and in place of any other exfoliators, my skin is back behaving normally and really looks and feels good. YSTW seems to be very therapeutic for my skin. if i get dry patches just on my nose, or if my cheeks develop millia, i just use it on those places & not on the rest of my face if i don't need to. after i use the bar, my skin is not dry or tight, and it's certainly not greasy at all. just exfoliated, soft and very clear. i love this stuff, and will continue to buy it.

Everyone agrees, this bar smells amazing! Too bad it melts away so quickly!! It also lacks the moisturizing and the extreme exfoliating qualities the website describes. Honestly, if you want a GOOD scrub and real moisturizing power, go for the buffy.
