I had Big on my list for a while of products I wanted to try from Lush. I actually bought the volume hair gift set they had which included Big and a few other things. This shampoo smells amazing and makes my hair feel awesome as well. My hair is a lost cause when it comes to volume but Big does indeed help. Used with Veganese conditioner, all I do is run my fingers through my hair and appreciate the smell all day ;)

it made my hair feel like it was getting so much volume when i was washing my hair. it was really knotty when i washed it out so i used my own conditioner. when i got out of the shower and blew dry my hair, it absolutely did nothing for me. it looked like the other shampoo i was using before except this one was worse because it made my hair so knotty so i had to use a lot of conditioner to get it to untangled.

When I went to a Lush store for the very first time, so I searched extra thoroughly after this product. I had heard much about it and really wanted to test if it was as good as everyone said it was. And from the first time I used big, I knew they were right! By the age of 13 years I have typical teenagehair, it is basically always greasy and this shampoo tackles that problem without a fight!

When I use Big I got to make an effort to make it lather, but once it does that, the lather is quite large and smells great. You have to use conditioner to it, otherwise the hair will get dry. I use the Veganese conditioner, it contains both lemon and seaweed just like Big and the smell is almost exactly the same. A perfect match then!

When my hair has dried after I used the combo, it's shiny, thicker than if I would have used a different shampoo (I've tried quite a few shampoos to solve my problem) and very soft.

I don't think I have to search more for an ideal product for me! :)

This stuff is amazing! It smells wonderful, cleans thoroughly, and gives my hair amazing volume! I have long, wavy, fine hair, but I have a lot of it (it's the kind of hair that people are shocked when they touch it because they expect there to be a lot more!) and I find that a lot of the time it looks flat. Not when I use Big! This is the first product I've found that gives my roots a lot of volume without causing my hair to feel dirty. In fact, my hair feels amazingly clean!
I use this shampoo twice a week and I've been getting so many compliments on my hair since I've started using it. The jar will last me a long time as it takes a very small amount to get a nice lather (be sure your hair is soaked before applying it, otherwise you might not get such a great lather) and the smell is amazing!
Overall, this is a product I will recommend and repurchase again and again.

Using this shampoo for the first time is a fun experience. You open the tub and poke at it, not really sure what to expect. It doesn't look like regular shampoo after all. You scoop out a bit and think "I'm supposed to rub THIS all over my head? We're talking soft-pretzel sized salt chunks right here!" But then when you start working it through your hair the salt starts to melt away and work itself through your locks and lathers up like CRAZY, thus converting you into a believer in the power of Big. Until you start to dry your hair, then you actually want to marry Big so you'll never have to be apart again. Makes your hair super shiny, super soft and super-volumized. The one thing I'm not totally wild about is the smell, which is pleasant enough, but if it was fruitier I'd love it even more.

Before I begin, please keep in mind that I have thick hair which goes down the middle of my back.

I received "Big" as a sample and tried it even though it is advertised for thin, limp hair. I'll try anything, why not? :)

I wasn't a fan of the smell, initially (it almost smelt like a subtle garlic to me), but it wasn't noticeable at all after washing. It didn't lather very well for me but, again, it was a sample so I'm sure if I had more to work with, it probably would have made a difference for me.

After use, and when my hair was beginning to air dry, I started to notice the added weight. My hair had incredible volume and was absolutely screaming with shine! Wow!

I gave the overall rating, "That's good stuff" and "yes, I would recommend this to a friend" because I know it WOULD be good stuff for someone with thinner hair. I just wouldn't see myself using it again because it weighed my hair down and I didn't particularly like that feeling.

So, for much added volume and shine, definitely go for it! If it did what it did for my thick hair, I can only imagine what it would do for yours.

When I picked up Big, I wasn't quite so sure about it. The texture is so gritty, it seemed like it should have been more of a scrub. I was totally wrong, it lathers very well and actually does bring volume and bounce that my hair doesn't usually have. also, the smell isn't as overpowering as it seems to be. I used it with Veganese conditioner at first, but I think it works better if you pair it with r&b as a leave in conditioner.

Lush definitely went big. I have the thinnest and straightest hair possible and therefore no volume. Big gives my hair voluptuous volume, great shine, and a smell so good my partner starts purring.

This is a FABULOUS shampoo!

A little bit of this baby goes a loooooong way. It gives you so much lather you don't have to wash, rinse, repeat like other store bought shampoos. The smell is amazing and I especially love the sea salt which gives you a nice boost. A good value indeed. I don't think I can go back to any other shampoo after this!

I have mixed-blessing hair. It's long, straight, and strong, but unbearably oily and mega-thick. It typically takes a LOT of shampoo to get all my hair cleaned. I bought Big when the staff at the Pasadena Lush recommended it for use a couple of times a week to boost my hair's volume. The shopgirl recommended about a teaspoon's worth, which seems like nothing. When I got in the shower, I thought I'd start with her recommended dose, and it lathered up HUGELY! It was really enough for my whole mane. My hair was bouncy, shiny, and (amazingly) oil-free for a couple days after that wash. It does a number on dry ends though, so I'd recommend pairing with a conditioner.

i used a few samples of this on my thick, oily, babyfine hair and i really like it. it's not something i could use everyday, but it was great for me as i was detoxing my hair from conventional shampoos.

for a salty shampoo for oily hair i prefer i love juicy.

I bought this product on a whim with a girlfriend. We weren't sure, so we bought the tub and split it, and after both of us using it once, we wish we had each gotten our own. Love the sensation from the salt in it, it really feels like it cleans deeply, but doesn't over dry. I dye my hair blonde, but also have very fine hair and struggle with finding products that take care of my hair that won't weigh it down and this does the trick! I didn't use conditioner or styling products after my first use and was amazed at how soft, shiny and voluminous my hair was after and I'm dying to dive deeper into Lush hair products! Plus, it smells amazing and the fragrance really stays in your hair.

I've been searching and searching for something different to use on my hair as I felt other shampoos were either not working or my hair was "getting used to them." After loving some soap I bought from Lush, I decided I would like to try their shampoo, but I wasn't sure how this scrub-like texture in a shampoo would lather or work in my hair. The sales lady lathered my hand up and I quickly bought a pot! This shampoo is perfect -- I have thick, straight, but a slight wave in my hair. It throughly cleans, leaves my hair shiny, and gives my hair GREAT volume that lasts all day and for the first time in my life, I could skip a day washing if I wanted! Thanks Lush - BIG will always be a staple in my shower!

I would only recommend this to be used once a week, almost like a clarifying shampoo because my hair literally gets squeaky clean with this shampoo. It feels very dry after using this shampoo. That being said, I love how it lathers up and the smell is nice. It also leaves my hair very shiny and definitely clean. I use with veganese conditioner and love it.

i can't believe how amazing this shampoo is! i have very fine, oily hair that i've struggled with for years. i've found a few products throughout my struggle, but they all produced so-so results, and i thought that i'd just have to deal with my hair falling completely flat halfway through the day. boy, was i wrong!! i had never used lush products until about a week ago, and Big was one of my first purchases. my hair now stays full and bouncy and gorgeous ALL day long, even after flat-ironing! i have noticed that my ends feel a bit dry, but i heat style every day so it's to be expected. i pair this with Veganese conditioner and i'm constantly blown away by how full my hair is. and the smell is intoxicating... i can't stop sniffing my hair! i went back to the store to ask the salespeople about an alternate shampoo that could help counteract the dryness from Big, and they recommended the Cynthia Sylvia Stout, either mixed in with Big or used on its own on alternating days. we'll see how that goes, but i'm already excited to try it!

At first I was very hesitant to try this, I wasn't too keen on the salt part. I tried it and I fell in love. It smells awesome!
I have a decent amount of hair but its fine, and it can be very limp. BIG shampoo gave me root volume, body, a lot of bounce, and shine, shine, shine! woot!

I got this quite a while ago, and you cannot even imagine how excited I was about this. However, after the first wash, I didn't see any difference in my hair. Maybe my hair is already shiny/big enough, but I honestly didn't see any difference. The wash after, my hair felt dry in the shower, but once you apply it, it feels nice. It lathers really well, surprisingly. The sea salt crystals are pretty cool, but it gets awkward when you accidentally leave one in, and people think you have really chunky salty dandruff. (:
