This product smells wonderful, and gives you a great rich lather. It's very softening on the hair. I love how creamy the lather is on my hair, it feels great. The moisture for my hair isn't much of a priority so I pay not much attention to that, but the lather and feel is great. I did go through the product very quickly though, maybe I was lathering too much?

This shampoo smelled absolutely amazing, but sadly that is the most positive thing I can say about it. Gentle Lentil did not agree with my hair AT ALL (I have fine, long, wavy hair). After washing, my hair felt heavy and almost sticky, and while blowdrying I could hardly get a brush through it. Definitely will not be using again.

This shampoo is crazy good. I was worried that it would be fairly drying, since most of the shampoo bars are not intended for hair like mine (thick, wavy, a bit damaged), but I was so wrong. It actually brought my curls out and made them really soft and bouncy.

I have Wavy/Curly hair that is dry and prone to frizz. That being said this bar replaced my shampoo and conditioner without any fuss, its a little more difficult to brush my hair after a shower without the conditioner but no new frizz or other unplesant surprises. Smells sweet, hard to describe the scent though maybe vanilla mixed with orchids, very soft scent.

This is my first LUSH review (yay!) and I just wanted to share how absolutely amazing this little shampoo smells. I got it as a sample with an order and I'm in love. I can't exactly describe the scent except to say that it's so so good and I can't stop smelling my hair now. So full of happy.

I've only washed my hair with it a few times, but it's made my curls bouncier and more defined and when coupled with Jungle I have such soft, sweet/subtle smelling hair. I used to throw my hair back in a ponytail but after using LUSH, I wear it down and free and feel so gorgeous. And like I said, I can't stop smelling my hair!

I can't recommend Gentle Lentil enough.

This stuff smells so good. It took me a while to figure it out but, to me at least, it smells like warm vanilla and sugar. Maybe that'd just how lentils smell but that's the scent that kept this chunk of soap to my nose instead of to my head. It lathered really nicely- not too much to the extent it would make me uncomfortable with the amount of chemicals (though I was saddened to see it contains sodium lauryl sulfate), but still enough that it was easy to spread and appeared to be doing its job. And its job it did. Almost too well. I have dry hair, thanks to unfavorable genetics which has only been added to with years of chemical and heat abuse. My hair literally squeaked when I was washing it out, a sign there were no more oils. It doesn't seem dry exactly, just not smooth and silky. I think my hair just needs some time to adjust to a new product. Overall, it's great, definitely far from being a disappointment. I was torn between this and Trichomania (which I got as a sample but have yet to use) and this stuff smells way better!

The first time I used this I had really long hair, so I found it hard to get it all lathered up the way I wanted. One six-inch haircut later, I really think this is a great shampoo! With two or three swipes, it lathers up nicely. This is the first Lush hair product I've used. I wouldn't say I'm completely converted to solid shampoos now, but this seems to be a nice product so far. I hope it lasts as long as solid shampoo are rumored to last; that would be a nice bonus to this product.

The smell is lovely. Very light, somewhat sweet, and it lasts all day on my hair.

I haven't noticed any changes as to whether my hair is less tangly or easier to take care of, but I have seen an increase in shine and healthiness. Now, I'm not saying that my hair went from rope-dullness to diamond-shine, but the shine is there. And I don't think I can directly attribute the softness of my hair with this shampoo (because I always put on conditioner after I use it), but it probably has something to do with it too.

In summary, great product after I got used to it. Would buy again.

Oh, one other thing though - it's sort of awkward to take care of. Obviously since it's a rectangle it doesn't fit in a shampoo tin, so I'm left wondering how to store it. Haven't come up with any bright ideas yet!

Wow.. I got it as a sample and I already ordered 3 full size bars of shampoo. I recieved so many compliments when I used the sample. One person said it look like I had my hair professionally done but I just used the shampoo at night with no conditioner and straightned it out the next day. It does look a lot healthier and less dry because I have longer hair that is pretty dry especially at the bottom. You will be surprised. I love it and Im sticking to it. I tried the Godiva and I didnt like it as much as this one.

This solid shampoo smelled GREAT. However, I have rather fine, straight hair and it left it feeling heavy and with a little bit of residue left over. It did make my hair like vanilla creme and the ends feeling smooth and strong.

I have worked for lush for a little over year now and I have finally had a chance to make my 1st retro order with my lush knowledge. I had always wanted to try Gentle Lentil shampoo because I have ridiculously long wavy fine hair that I straighten regularly and needed a shampoo that would keep it soft and manageable but not weigh it down. I wash my hair every 2-3 days (I try to stick to every 3 days since its about waist length) and I was finding that my roots would become very oily after the 1st day while my ends were dry and damaged. After using this shampoo paired with the Okra conditioner I have never been happier about my hair and can proudly tell the customers that come into the shop that I use only lush products on my long lovely hair.

Aside from being asked if my hair is fake (which I've learned to take as a compliment .. apparently it looks to good to be true) its so shiny and healthy that my hair stylist asked me what I was using since she couldn't believe it had been 7 months since my last trim!

I have tried a lot of shampoos, and I do mean a lot. I have strange hair; one minute it is dry the next oily. I can use this shampoo everyday no matter which mood my hair is in and it always comes out beautiful.

I find that it lathers well and easily. I do not have to use a lot to get the job done and my hair comes to the middle of my back. And I love the scent. When I read powdery in a review it put me off for awhile because I hate powdery scents, but this is not powdery. It is soft and wonderful.

I really hope this comes back to the shelves as a regular but until then I will keep ordering on the website because I love the way this makes my hair look and feel.

The best solid shampoo I have ever used. It is moisturizing yet leaves my hair feeling clean. It smells just like butter ball, and pair it with american cream and your hair will be in vanilla heaven. If you love the smell of butter ball but hate solid shampoos? Just grate up the bar and mix it with a bit of lightly boiling water. Let it sit for a half hour to cool off and poof! Bottled shampoo! I like to grate a bar of lentil and a bar of tric together to make my own cocobutter/ coconut shampoo that is so moisturizing I will never use another shampoo again!

I ordered this shampoo since I have hair that is very prone to damage and split, dry ends, while the roots get greasy quickly. I find that I have to wash my hair every day, regardless of what shampoo or hair-care routine that I use. I have only used gentle lentil a handful of times now, but I find that I like it more and more each time.

When I first got the package and opened it up, I was really disappointed by the smell of it. I expected this beautiful warm vanilla fragrance, but instead it just smelled strange. But, like with some Lush products, I thought it might smell better when I actually use it in my hair...and I was right. The scent has really grown on me, and I love it now. The shampoo lathers up beautifully with only three or four swipes (I have thin, shoulder length straight hair) and feels like it's really cleaning and moisturizing my hair. The first time using this shampoo, I used veganese conditioner afterwards. When I dried my hair, it looked somewhat dull and flat, and it got pretty greasy by the end of the day. I was very disappointed!

The next day I used Big to put some life back into it (I love Big). So the day after that, I wash with gentle lentil again, but this time I only applied a bit of conditioner to the ends. After blowdrying, my hair looked shiny and healthy, smelled great, but was still quite flat. It didn't get AS greasy by the end of the day, but still was.

So today, I washed again with GL, this time using NO conditioner. My hair looks gorgeous! It looks so healthy and it has body to it and smells awesome...I washed it six hours ago and it still looks fabulous. From now on when I use GL, I know not to use conditioner! I'm thrilled today and expect to love this product more and more.

I wanted a less oil-killing shampoo in the winter months and thought I'd try it. This has no real scent to it, which is fine by me. It made my thick, mostly-curly hair beautifully smooth, shiny, tangle-free and frizz-free. Combing was a breeze! Only problem is my hair became greasy and flat after two shampoos. I'd recommend this to a friend with dry hair or processed hair, it was too much of a good thing for my oily hair and scalp.

This was my first lush product. My hair was begging me for some moisture from all of the hair dyes I have used. Gentle Lentil lathers really well and leaves my hair soft and smelling delicious all day long. It lasts a while too because you don't need much to have a good lather.

I kept over looking this product because I was so in love with Godiva and Karma Komba still am. Yet, I thought let me see the reviews, everyone was raving so hence it came to my house. I used it and it is the first shampoo that doesn't strip my hair. It makes my scalp feel wonderful and my hair is so soft. I have long,wavy,thick,out of control hair and this shampoo is beyond excellent! Smells great works wonderfully please don't ever retire this product!

I got this as a sample, and just by smelling it, I really liked it already. The small piece that I used on my hair was wonderful, BUT- I have hair that is thicker than normal, and Gentle Lentil, despite wonderfully cleaning my hair and making it soft, made my hair POOF out and added extra body to my hair. That was the only downside in my opinion.

I had tried a couple solid shampoos from lush and while they were all good, none of them compare to Gentle lentil!! This stuff SMELLS AMAZING, makes your hair feel great and lasts for a long time. You truly don't need to make too many swipes with it. I had a bar for four months, and I have hair that goes down to a little bit above my middle back, and I have to wash my hair every day because of my job. It really helped make my hair low maintenance, and it felt so soft. I didn't really have to do much to make my curls pretty either. Ever so often, I use a dab of curly wurly to help replenish the oils my curls need, along with some R&B when i get out of the shower and done. Give this a try if you really interested in solid shampoos, this one is a great one.

I have tried a few Lush solid shampoos and have liked them all (NEW! and Dr.Peppermint). They both helped to strengthen and thicken my thin hair, however I also needed something to moisturize without weighing down...I have odd hair, it is thin, gets greasy easily, but the ends are dry. So I decided to order a Gentle Lentil and used it right after it came in. Oh my God! The smell when wet and lathered is amazing...like a very gentle warm vanilla....however the smell dry is not my favorite, smells almost sour. But this shampoo is gentle, it gives me volume, and it moisturizes. I straightened my hair after using it the first time and my girlfriend was amazed at the amount of body and shine my hair had! Thank you Lush :o)
