I totally thought this was a moisturizer, and I've been using it as such. Its very light, and sinks right into your skin.
It definitely does take off makeup, although you shouldn't use this for eye makeup remover (hey, someone might not know that!)

I bought this in hopes to find a good daily facial cleanser to use in the shower. I have very sensitive skin, somewhat dry, and I'm allergic to soap, so it's not an easy task. The wonderful thing about 9 to 5 is that it does not irritate my skin! Hurrah! No pink, no bumps, no itching. On the other hand, I could easily believe someone filled my bottle with a (famous, German) moisturiser instead of cleanser. It even smells the same! It smooths on well enough, but does not rinse off in the slightest, leaving a heavy film on the skin. In winter, that might work well for my dryness, but for now I just don't end up using it, since it doesn't seem to clean.

I bought this because I needed a makeup remover and using Herbalism on its own was kind of drying my skin out. This has helped to balance the drying effect from the Herbalism. I have oily-combination skin with few breakouts. Just a few hormonal ones sometimes. I do get congestion in my T-zone. This product works well, but it's a bit of a pain to remove. I apply to dry skin, massage, and rub my mascara off with it. Then I wet my face with warm and massage a bit more to help emulsify it. Then I take a wash cloth with warm to hot water and wipe it all off. It will do a great job taking your makeup off, but if you're oily, you might want to follow it with a cleanser or toner that will really help remove any excess residue. I don't like the smell that much. Reminds me of Johnson & Johnson's Creamy Baby Oil. My skin does feel baby soft lately, though! :)

I use this product daily. This product is a little different, but once you get used to how to use it, it's awesome! I first pump a little into my hands and smooth onto dry skin. I rub it around for about a good 30 seconds. Then I take a cotton swab and spray my tea tree water toner onto the cotton swab. I then simply remove the cleansing product with that. It gets ride of everything! all my makeup, and the dirt, oil, and grime, but it never strips your face. It leaves it clean and soft! most times I feel I don't even need to follow up with a moisturizer. This product smells kind of like johnson and johnson's baby lotion in the pink container. I honestly love that lotion for my skin, so the smell to me is awesome! It doesn't have any bad oils in it, which is good because it won't clog your pores, but it also won't strip your face dry, causing your face to produce even MORE oil. great product lush!

I am obsessed. I travel a lot for work and being able to toss this in my suitcase/travel bag has been a game changer for me. After working an event day, 16-20 hour long day, this is my mid-day saving grace and nighttime knight in shining armor (like what I did there?) I don't know that I'll ever use another make-up remover or cleanser again at night...

I have combo normal/oily skin and have thrown this into my rotation with the Aquamarina/Angels on Bare Skin, Eau Roma toner, and Vanishing Cream moisturizer. Perfect fit. :)

I have been using 9 to 5 for about three weeks, and I really like it so far. I like to use it when I come home from school/work to take off all my makeup. First I remove my eye makeup by taking a small amount and massaging it into my eye area, then wiping each eye with a cotton round. Next I add some more to my entire face, massage that in, and remove with another cotton round. The amount of gunk that comes off is insane! 9 to 5 gets all of my makeup and any grossness from the day off of my face, and I love that. I usually finish with by rubbing a damp, warm washcloth all over my face just because I don't really like the feeling of having cleanser left over on my face, and then using Tea Tree Water to make everything feel completely clean. That all might sound like a lot, but it takes about 3 minutes and leaves my skin feeling wonderfully clean and soft. I haven't experienced any irritation or blemishes with 9-5, and I've used it daily since I got it.
PROS: The smell is wonderful, it's gentle and it gets ALL of my makeup off-- and I sometimes get a little heavy-handed with my eye makeup.
CONS: It can kind of leave a feeling of residue behind.
Overall, I definitely recommend 9-5. Even if your skin is on the oilier side, which mine can be, you can just use this as a great makeup remover and follow with a more deep, "traditional" cleanser. For normal to dry skin, I think this would be all the cleanser you need.

I'm really shocked. I thought this would be so amazing but it's just like a moisturizer. I feel like I'm just putting on lotion and washing it off. I have really dry skin so I thought this would be soothing but it just made me break out. It doesn't remove dirt or clean thoroughly. :(

This is the best cleanser I have ever tried. When I popped in a Lush store recently to explore, I was immediately very warmly welcomed and was promptly given a tour of the store and Lush's wide array of products. After my extensive tour, the saleswoman offered me a plethora of samples, one of which was this. I usually try not to purchase new products when I already have some of the same type left (i.e. I hate buying a new shampoo when I still have plenty of my old one left because I'm always too tempted to use the new product), but after trying this, I couldn't help it. I thought I loved my more expensive moisturizing cleanser, but after trying this, I knew this was something more. I have been searching for such a long time for the perfect skin care regimen and now I know that I have found a product that MUST be included.

Never has a cleanser so completely removed my makeup and moisturized my face while leaving me with such fresh, clean feeling skin. The best part is, it's so simple. Just rub onto your face, then wipe off with a cotton pad or ball. And that's it. It's perfect for those nights when I come home just dying to go to sleep. Knowing how easy it will be to use this product, I am still able to convince myself to keep up with my skin care regimen. So if you are sometimes a little lazy in the evenings when it comes to skincare (like me), this is perfect for you. There isn't much smell to speak of. Its scent is light and fades quickly. What is much more remarkable are the results.

I tend to have drier skin in the winter but fairly decent skin in the summer except for some mild acne in my t- zone. So why have I never found a cleanser that worked so well for me? I don't know. I have found cleansers before that worked well, but they tended to be more expensive, and the definitely didn't work THIS well. I feel that this would work equally well for those with dry to very dry skin and those with oil/combination skin. Afterwards, you can just pair it with a toner and moisturizer that are best suited to your skin type. I wouldn't use this as a morning cleanser, since I prefer something that's made to work with water for my morning shower, but that does not detract from my love for this product. For me, this is the perfect evening cleanser. The best I have ever used. So far, my introduction to Lush products has been amazing and I foresee myself becoming a complete devotee in the near future. :)

I'm a busy mom and am very eco-conscious. It always bothers me to let the water run in the evening till it warms enough to wash my face. Plus I don't want to make a lot of noise if I go out and come home after others have gone to bed. This product solves all of those problems and makes my skin feel soft and healthy! I just put some on a cotton round and use that to remove all makeup from my face. Afterwards my skin feels wonderful - as if I washed it and moisturized it all at once! If I ever put on too much or feel like I need to clean it off more, I just follow with a toner on another cotton round - done!

I bought this because I'm disabled and find it quite difficult to get out of bed at night and properly wash my face, but face wipes don't always get my make up off. I really love cream cleansers that you just wipe off. Unfortunately, this wasn't for me.
My skin is 90% flaky and dry with my t-zone being a bit oily sometimes. I bought this, Eau Roma and Celestial. I gave it about a month, using it as directed, but I broke out BADLY! I knew it wasn't the Eau Roma as I've used that before, so I went the last 2 weeks without the Celestial to see if that was the problem. It wasn't.
Beyond the breakouts, I was never a fan of the after feeling. It always felt like I was left with a film of grease left on my skin. Not moisture, grease. The Eau Roma wouldn't budge it. Only getting up and washing with Fresh Farmacy made my skin feel better.
I guess i'm just going to go back to my previous routine, Eau Roma every night and using FF every other night or whenever I wear makeup, sunscreen, sweat, etc.
Some products just don't work for some people. If they did, they'd all be exactly the same formula. This one didn't happen to work for me, but it seems to do a bang up job for many, many people. This is why Lush and their samples are a good thing. I should have asked for a sample first, but I'm MO only and needed other things right away, so I ordered this too. No worries though, I'm certain I have more than one friend who'd like to get her little paws on it! Thanks anyway Lush!

I am Hooked! My face has been breaking out for years and Nothing I have tried has been working for me. I have dry, sensitive skin and I went into the LUSH store extremely skeptical, but after 2 days, count then - 1...2! My husband commented on how my face looked so much clearer. I would definately recommend this product. I went back the next day and got eau Roma water toner and Skin Drink Moisturizer! Been 2 weeks and still Loving my face cleaning routine and my face has cleared up and stayed clear! Can't wait to try more lush products!

When I used this I was worried. I have acne prone skin and around my chin area, my skin gets so dry that I have to use a harsh Microdermabrasion every single night. And after scrubbing my skin to take away ALL of the dry cracked dead skin, my face is incredibly sensitive from the scrubbing. But, the scrubbing was all that got rid of it. The first time I used this, I was really scared that it wouldn't work. But after lightly massaging the 9-5 cleanser, and then rubbing the herbalism into my skin and washing it off. I noticed a drastic difference. First, I didn't need to use the microdermabrasion at all; my skin was incredibly soft and moisturized. I LOVE THIS PRODUCT! I will continue to use this over and over. I would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Thank you Lush.

Okay, when I got this product, I was... skeptical, to say the least. I figured I would be disappointed, just like I always am with facial cleansers. However, I was pleasantly surprised! I use this in conjunction with Eau Roma toner, Fall From Grace serum, and Celestial moisturizer. The reason I picked these products is because I have very dry, very sensitive skin. I have... mild break outs, and I'm 22-years-old. Nothing seemed to help. So... I decided to give Lush a try, and I am amazed! My face is staying clear! I am so thankful. I actually use all the products I listed cold. I put them in the fridge. I found that using them cold helps to soothe redness on my face. I seriously will use this... until Lush stops making it! =]

Ok seriously I LOVE this cleanser. This past winter my face was basic dying. It was so dry and peeling it hurt and was so gross. Naturally, I went to lush to be saved lol This cleanser is perfectly moisturizing with out being too much. I have combination skin so I'm always trying to make sure my dry and oily needs are met. Now that winters gone I basically use this at night to remove my make up. And it works wonderfully! But you have to know how to use it. Don't try to wash it off with water...you have to wipe it off w tissue! You'll be left with beautiful soft skin!

Incredibly easy to use, I only wash my face at bedtime as I'm very prone to break out worse using cleanser as opposed to water alone. This is the first skin cleanser I have ever been able to use without breaking out, and it has made my skin softer and much clearer than it was prior to using this product.

I was skeptical about this product at first, it felt weird to massage a lotion-like product into my face, but seriously? It feels so good, and leaves my skin so soft and clean feeling! I actually look forward to washing my face every night!

I realize one is supposed to wipe the product off with a cotton pad, but I actually like rinsing it off and then patting my face dry. I follow up with a few spritzes of "Breath of Fresh Air" toner, and I feel like I've removed the remains of the day. My skin has been incredibly clear since I've switched to Lush's skin care products, acne was a big problem before, and my skin has looked and felt amazing this past month!

OMG I love this thing! I first received it as a free sample at the Lush store. I was a bit skeptical because my skin is super sensitive. The worker recommended to me so I decide to give it a try.

I decide to use up the sample (it took about a week). The results are great! So glad the worker recommended it to me. Because my skin is now baby soft! Even my girl friend noticed. Not just that but my make up looks great (I don't wear much make up just concealer and powder) and it seriously looks like I'm wearing foundation but it's au naturale!

Now I'm going back to the store to buy a bottle. Thanks Lush!

I absolutely adore this product. I use it in the morning and at night. I smooth a quarter sized ammount into my palm apply it to my face let it dry slightly and remove with a moistened washcloth. It leaves my skin clean, smooth, and moisturized. It smells amazing. Has cleared up my oily tzone and blackhead issues without being too harsh. Also I bought my first bottle in October, use it twice a day, and I still have about a 3rd left. You get your moneys worth on top of everything else. Love it. Will use forever.

I saw a negative comment about 9-5, but it sounded more like this individual was using the product incorrectly. You are meant to massage it into your face, to get it in deep to remove makeup. Then wipe off with a cotton ball. It might still feel a bit oily, but that is fine- it moisturizes beautifully. I will then either use Tea Tree water to finish up, or I will also wash with coalface, and then follow with tea tree water and moisturizer. Fantastic product, thank you Lush!
