The Manitoba chapter of the Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) is a non-governmental, volunteer-driven organization that works to preserve the nation's natural landscapes. They do this through establishing new parks and protected areas, and by making sure nature comes first in the management of parks and wilderness areas.
How we helped
LUSH funding supported the publication of 150,000 educational reports printed on 100% post-consumer recycled paper to educate the public in Manitoba about the need to expand the boundaries of Fisher Bay provincial park. These boundaries were created with local Indigenous communities and respect cultural and ecological areas of prime importance.
