Green Thumbs Growing Kids runs programs for children, youth and families on school grounds and in local greenhouses, so that they can grow and taste fresh foods. The gardens are a place to learn about nature, the environment, local foods, cross-cultural recipe exchanges, permaculture, water conservation, and other environmental and food topics.
Our programs focus on local ecosystems with a global worldview, reducing waste and improving soil, which helps us and our environment to be healthy. We envision edible learning gardens everywhere as part of healthy communities.
