WEIF is alleviating poverty while promoting food security and gender empowerment in the remote villages of Divshi, Gadchnicla, and Ghadane in Maharashtra, India. Between 2012 and 2014, WEIF provided seeds, water drums, and training to 300 women. These women cultivated vegetables and jasmine to feed their families and generate income. This activity is curbing migration and malnutrition while promoting women as valued contributors and leaders in their families and communities. Support from Lush has enabled this activity to reach 200 additional women in the area.
