ACT Asia for Animals
The ACTAsia Humane Education program, “Caring for Life,” teaches Chinese children to have compassion for animals, to be kind towards people and respectful of the environment. Now in its third year, this pioneering 12-session course is taught in 52 public schools in five cities. The “Caring for Life” program has reached more than 13,000 children, from ages six through eight. ACTAsia has now trained more than 500 Humane Educators. The five course subjects are: The Web of Life, Animal Sentience, Responsible Pet Ownership, Interacting Safely with Animals, and Compassion and Empathy. The program is growing every year!
