CYC serves as an educational, training, coordination and campaign center for both indigenous youth and non-indigenous youth advocates of indigenous rights. It organizes various avenues such as the project disaster preparedness and waste management to educate, train and mobilize the youth and children in the Cordillera for the protection of their indigenous land, natural resources, other forms of biodiversity in their communities and the revitalization of their indigenous culture based on indigenous framework and aspirations. It also expanded its youth network through its campaign – Youth Advocates for the Defense of the Environment and Culture (YtADEC).
How we helped
Donation from Lush will further developed our work in the empowerment of the indigenous youth and even non-indigenous youth advocates of indigenous rights in the Cordillera. In particular, the youth will help contribute in strengthening their communities' resilience in times of disasters. Likewise, it will help the youth in upholding their role in the protection of their indigenous lands, resources, culture and the environment for the current and future generations.
