Green Thumbs Growing Kids

Green Thumbs Growing Kids runs programs for children, youth and families on school grounds and in local greenhouses, so that they can grow and taste fresh foods. The gardens are a place to learn about nature, the environment, local foods, cross-cultural recipe exchanges, permaculture, water conservation, and other environmental and food topics. Our programs focus on local ecosystems with a global worldview, reducing waste and improving soil, which helps us and our environment to be healthy. We envision edible learning gardens everywhere as part of healthy communities.

How we helped

Lush’s donation impacts the many hundreds of children and youth who benefit from their school gardens every year. Our programs are helping them to become eco-citizens who like to eat greens!
