Media Island

Media Island International is a resource and networking center for individuals, organizations, and movements working on social justice, economic democracy, ecological sustainability, and peace. We gather, evaluate, and distribute underpublished information on critical issues at strategic times. Media Island has run the low power fm station KOWA 106.5 in Olympia with this mission adapted for radio. Our new collaborative project is the Cascade Radio Network and a regional radio news show. The Cascade Radio Network was an idea formed out of the 2014 Cascade Media Convergence in Portland hosted by the NW Alliance for Alternative Media Education (NAAME).
