New Nature Foundation

New Nature Foundation (NNF) seeks to balance the needs of people with those of imperiled wildlife. Targeting rural communities in Uganda & Vietnam, our programs diminish wood extraction from natural landscapes, reduce threats to wildlife and facilitate adaptations to climate change and deforestation. Some of the world’s most amazing animals are in danger because people's need for firewood is destroying their forest homes. And traditional three-stone fires are detrimental to family health. To address these issues, NNF empowers citizens by teaching about efficient stoves, cooking with biomass briquettes, and growing fuel at home. NNF’s Science Centers teach about land use strategies, family planning and biodiversity.

How we helped

Lush's donation makes up a significant amount of funding for our community Science Centers. With these funds, we will be able to engage approximately 20,000 Ugandan people who have rarely encountered wildlife and nature in a positive way. Opening our fifth natural history museum with professional grade educational equipment and tools, the first of its kind in the area, will greatly enhance each individual’s appreciation of nature and understanding of the need to conserve it for future generations.
