One Cowichan

One Cowichan strives to make the Cowichan Valley a great place to live, work and play. Their main activities center around engagement organizing – identifying, mobilizing, and training local activists to become leaders in the community. Currently, One Cowichan is advocating for Cowichan Valley to become BC's Solar Capital. After all, “Cowichan” is a Hul'qumi'num word meaning “warm land”. This goal provides a great opportunity to continue building a real community of change.

How we helped

Charity pot funding supported a mass mobilization, public outreach and public engagement campaign to pressure the government to support a solar package for the Cowichan region of British Columbia.
