Organization of Women’s Freedom in Iraq (OWFI)
The Organization of Women’s Freedom in Iraq (OWFI) coordinates passionate advocates for the overall safety, security and access to human rights and fundamental freedoms of Iraqis who are vulnerable to violence and discrimination. OWFI’s programs include empowering a nationwide network of volunteers and activists to advocate effectively for women’s and LGBTQ rights. They conduct community outreach, national and international awareness campaigns and develop innovative anti-violence and political empowerment strategies.
How we helped
Funds from Charity Pot helped support the costs of the LGBTQ Rights Awareness Program in Iraq, expanding the range of OWFI’s services and helping to share information about shelters, emergency medical aid, life-skills training and advocacy activities.
