Other 98 Percent Lab

Other98’s mission is simple but bold: to be a storytelling force that stirs people to action. We're building the Mosquito Fleet, a decentralized network of water-based direct action fleets. The Fleet is made up of tactical specialists and trainers who use their bodies and boats to obstruct the commerce and transport of fossil fuels in service of dismantling an extractive economy. We prioritize working in our home bioregion of the Pacific Northwest, and focus in three areas: Action Support, Training & Skillshares, and growing and maintaining a network of climate first responders.

How we helped

Lush's generous support has made it possible for us to train dozens of new "kayak-tivists" this fall. The communities in which we live and work have already been decimated by the boom-and-bust fossil fuel economy, so making our trainings free and accessible is critical. Thanks to Lush, we'll be able to open up our trainings to people who otherwise could not afford crucial gear like kayaks, life jackets, paddles, whistles, and more.
