Rebuild Globally
After the devastating effects of the 2010 earthquake, Rebuild Globally began working with the local Haitian people to create fair trade job opportunities. The goal is to provide living wage jobs to return people to self-sufficiency and at the same time reduce waste through repurposing of post-consumer materials like tires into products like footwear. Proceeds from the sales of the products are put back into on-going recovery efforts in the still disaster-ravaged community through initiatives like community gardens, health campaigns and assistance to orphans.
How we helped
Funds from Charity Pot went towards support materials, training and other resources for The Workforce Development Program, which assists the recycled tire sandals project for Haitian women.
