The Réseau québécois des groupes écologistes (RQGE) is a network of 80 grassroots, community-based environmental organizations in Quebec. Founded in 1982, they are the central hub for the collective defense of human rights, social justice and environmental protection. They provide support, tools, decision-making platforms, exposure and political representation to organizations in order to strengthen the environmental movement in every way possible. They reach out and make alliances with womens', workers', students' and First Nations' movements. While their members work on diverse issues, strategies and campaigns, they all gather under three values: solidarity, autonomy and respect for nature.
How we helped
Lush is helping our network by enabling us to build a series of tools designed specifically to help our environmental organizations their activities. From basic management to improving communication skills, democratic practices, campaign strategies and conflict resolution. The end goal is to create a stronger, more capable and more autonomous environmental movement that's able to face the challenges arising from bringing green innovation and defending human rights in a sometimes hostile economic and political landscape. We wouldn't be able to do this project without Lush and we're glad to have a partner so strongly dedicated to environmental protection and social justice.
