By providing access to secondary education for young women from low-income indigenous families in remote, mountain communities, The Sacred Valley Project is disrupting the cycle of generational poverty. Our mission is to house young women in safe and nurturing environments, provide academic support, supplementary educational workshops and nutritious meals so they can continue their education and become strong, knowledgeable, and empowered leaders. The Sacred Valley Project is a non-profit organization based in the Peruvian Andes; where we manage two education dormitories for girls from eleven different rural, subsistence-farming communities.
How we helped
The Sacred Valley Project is driven to find ways to become self-sustainable and to best prepare our students for life after school. The LUSH donation will allow us to launch a small artesanal bakery project that will help us to accomplish both of these goals. The bakery will provide vocational training for our students and generate income to support educational costs.
