Salmon - Safe BC

Salmon-Safe BC is a third-party site certification program that recognizes and rewards ecologically responsible management practices that protect Pacific salmon habitat and enhance water quality on agricultural and urban lands across British Columbia. Since the program’s introduction to BC in 2011, more than 50 farms, vineyards and urban sites have achieved Salmon-Safe certification, enhancing their land and water management practices to protect and restore critical wild salmon habitat. Through public education and site certification, Salmon-Safe works to achieve its vision of sustainable urban and agricultural communities alongside healthy aquatic ecosystems where wild salmon thrive!

How we helped

Thanks to Lush's donation, Salmon-Safe BC is able to strengthen its community outreach and professional training programs to raise awareness of specific actions at the site, neighborhood and watershed scale that help restore habitat and protect water quality so that wild salmon can thrive.
