Ten Oaks Project

The Ten Oaks Project is a volunteer-driven Canadian non-profit that engages and connects children and youth from LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, two-spirit and queer) identities, families and communities. Our work is inspired by camp and grounded in social justice, and we strive to build positive peer networks for all children and youth. We offer two summer camp programs: Camp Ten Oaks (for children and youth ages 8-17) and Project Acorn (for youth ages 16-24) - as well as a Youth Advisory Committee and year-round community events for LGBTQ+ families.

How we helped

The Charity Pot donation is helping us grow our camp programs for the children and youth of LGBTQ+ communities. Over 55% of the families who send their kids to camp cannot afford the camp fee, and funding from Charity Pot for things like food, program supplies and the campsite rental allows us to offer subsidies and ensure no child is turned away because of lack of funds.
