Wildlife Care of Ventura County

Wildlife Care of Ventura County (WCVC) is a volunteer-run group which was founded in 1994 by two already established wildlife groups: The Raptor Rehabilitation and Release Program which was located in Simi Valley and specialized in hawks, owls and larger mammals, and the Santa Barbara Wildlife Care Network which handled Ventura Counties seabirds and songbirds as well as small mammals. WCVC holds permits through the California Department of Fish and Game, United States Fish and Wildlife and USDA.

How we helped

LUSH funding went towards the costs of the education and release programs for wildlife in the Ventura County Area. A coyote enclosure was built to help rehabilitate coyotes and educate the local population about coyote and human encounters.
