The mission of Winds of Change is to bring innovative, cost-effective technology and support to help impoverished farmers in rural Nicaragua. New windmills, designed by engineering students from the University of Toronto, will be used to pump small amounts of water from existing wells to support sustainable farming practices including micro-irrigation. This will help families to grow more food, particularly in the dry season. Doing so will help provide nourishment and income to combat poverty.
How we helped
Charity Pot funding will help to grow more nutritious food for some of the poorest people in the Western hemisphere, ensuring healthier and more prosperous families.
