There are about 73,000 fracked oil and gas wells in Colorado. Because the oil and gas industry holds enormous political influence, Fracking is exempt from the Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act and Safe Drinking Water Act. Last year alone there were more than 600 reported spills in Colorado. 90% of fracking happens next to schools, homes, playgrounds, water sources and hospitals. People living near fracking are becoming sick and no one is being held accountable.
We are advancing two ballot state initiatives that would give communities control and protection over fracking.
