Rub a little of this complex fragrance on your pulse points and inhale: you'll discover different notes every time you smell it. On a trip to Tibet, our perfumer was inspired by the fresh clean air of the mountains and the smoky scents from the Tibetan temples. He rushed home to create two perfumes: Inhale and Exhale. Inhale is a light, melony scent while Exhale is a deep, smoky incense that he then combined to create Breath Of God. The melony citrus moves deeper into sandalwood and cedarwood undertones that reveal new facets as you wear it.

The Smell of Creation and Destruction

star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled star-star-filled

I always found this name a bit cheeky, what could claim to smell like the Breath of God? Well luckily I took the time to find out- this perfume is aptly named. The sweet, bright citrus notes smell like blue skies on a gorgeous spring day. Sunshine, flowers just poking through the ground, a bouquet of beauty. This is enhanced by the sultry, smokey campfire scent. What starts as a juvenile, young smell transforms into a unique and special aroma. The perfect balance of creation and destruction- a little bit of Breath of God. As soon as the liquid is available again I will be purchasing.

I wanted an earthy, fresh, androgynous scent that didn't rely on patchouli, and this is it! Starts as a smoky scent then mellows into your skin. I was worried because sometimes strong herbal smelling perfumes give me headaches, but this is soft and doesn't linger beyond a day.

I'm OBSESSED

As someone who rarely writes reviews, this perfume literally blew me away. It smells just like the signature lush store scent you can smell as soon as you walk vaguely towards the store itself. I bought this perfume blind, but as soon as my package came in and I opened the jar, I was obsessed. I could not stop smelling it. It also lasted a long time for a solid perfume on my skin. I was prepared to put it in my bag so I could reapply, but it lasted for hours. Breath of God is a beautiful scent that simply cannot be mimicked. I am enamored with its complexity and depth.

This product does lean more masculine, but I like that. I think I'll use it as a work scent, or times I need to put on my boss pants. When it goes on, its quite incensey and a little smokey. Kinda fresh smelling. Maybe what your hair would smell like after visiting a chilly mountain shrine. The smoke notes fade in like an hourish for me, and then its just kind of a light incense smell, almost soapy too like I'd showered. Its mostly gone after 5 hours but leaves an ethereal kind of mysterious smell on my clothes that I kinda dig.

I love everything about this scent. It is so beautiful and interesting. I love scents that are light but could *almost* pass as a cologne. This fits the bill and I'll buy it forever!

This is my favorite perfume solid, and I have about 10 of them. I am obsessed with anything with hints of incense [i.e. Jungle conditioner bar/Body Spray, Glory conditioner]. I don't like patchouli, so I want my incense-y smells to be less 60's and more.. ancient? This fits the bill. I keep buying the solid because I am actually scared of it being discontinued! I am so mad I missed out when Exhale/Inhale were in bottles. The melon undertone is genius. I would buy Breath Of God everything if I could. I put it on my wrists before bed and smell my wrists and drift off to sleep.. it is totally my favorite form of aromatherapy. 10/10!

This is one of the most dynamic fragrances I've ever smelled. Every few hours I smell something slightly different.. I even waited a few weeks to write this review because I feel like I'm still noticing new notes every day I wear it. Like some others, I wasn't a fan when I first smelled it. In the jar it smells like cologne or men's deodorant, super strong and hard to describe. Once you put it on and leave it for a while though, it transforms into a lovely combination of fresh, woodsy and smoky. It doesn't smell at all like cigarette smoke but it does remind me of it, in the best way. The melon is fresh but muted by the incense, and the vetiver gives off super nostalgic aftershave vibes. I don't think I'd be a fan of the different layers of this perfume individually, but together it makes the most perfect fragrance! When I wear this solid perfume on my wrists and neck, I don't get as strong whiffs of it throughout the day as I do with Karma and Lord of Misrule, but even after an 8hr work day it's still there when I smell my wrists. I would say that if you want others to smell it, buy the actual perfume. Overall, I love Breath of God, good job Gorilla Perfume! Wish this was a candle too!

I was so intrigued to try this after all the rave reviews and the description of thefragrance notes. But when I received it it didn't do it for me. It smells like I did after my shift at a restaurant in my early teens. Nothing wrong with it just doesn't vibe with my olfactory system. 😬

THE most mysterious & amazing fragrance...

So, I got a wash card of this to start. Cut off a tiny piece, washed my hands, and was instantly transported back to my surrogate grandparents house in Massachusetts circa 1960's! Intrigued, I ordered the solid. Now, every night as I settle into bed, I take the tiny jar off the nightstand & apply a bit to my wrists and shoulders. I smell fresh cantaloupe that Mrs. Sak just cut & plated, a little smoke from burning leaves in the yard, the smell of vetiver and cade oil from Mr. Sak's barbershop downstairs, some roses & fresh greens from their garden, a vague whiff of the Mitsouko perfume she wore - - all unfolding and harmonizing with eachother... This fragrance has been a mind-blowing experience for me...the most mysterious journey back to a place & people I love...

I got this online recently so I went off the description to buy it because the incense part interested me. When I got it I just automatically freaking loved it!! It is the **PERFECT** androgynous perfume, in my opinion. I love it so much that even though these perfumes last a while, im a little nervous and have been treating it like a special occasion perfume lol. I think a good way to fix that is to get the bottled perfume which i also immediately decided id be doing!! I really wish you guys would have more options for it though, like maybe a soap or shampoo, because right now there's only the wash card and two perfumes!!
