Old, Roman Catholic Church during Good Friday mass

I love perfumes with Patchouli, and I've now sampled all of the Patchouli-based fragrances LUSH has to offer (Karma, Lord of Misrule, Rent Less, and Tank Battle). LOM continues to be my absolute favorite perfume (it is certainly a gourmand on my skin, and smells absolutely delicious with my pheromones) but I also appreciate the above mentioned scent families. That being said, Tank Battle is certainly an art piece, but whether or not it's a wearable art piece is up for debate. Upon first spray, you're hit in the face with bright, pink bubble gum. This cloud of candy floss, reminiscent of my beloved Snow Fairy, is quickly followed by a damp, dark, moss-like aroma. On my skin, this continued to morph into a sweet, and somewhat unsettling, green mold/mildew smell. For better or for worse, the odd blend of aromas reminds me of Easter. It's such a "Spring" scent in the most gothic way possible. Like how Spring would smell in an old, abandoned church in the middle of Ireland. It's warm spring rain, church incense, jelly beans, dusty books and religious artifacts, crushed Lillies and Tulips, old wooden pews, the metallic nails of the cross, and the damp greenery overtaking the headstones of the church cemetery. I thought this fragrance would be a lighter, brighter LOM. Something that I could reach for when I wanted something a little less smoky and rich. Instead, it's a scent that I find to be oddly uncomfortable. Definitely not safe for a blind buy, and definitely too dark for me to wear regularly. My partner asked "what's that wet dish towel smell?" and honestly, he's not far off. Nonetheless, Tank Battle is beautifully morbid.

Absolutely stunning, complex perfume

Tank Battle was a blind buy, but it ended up being my favorite perfume in Lush's entire library. There's a cheekiness to the way it opens with a bubblegum note, like so many of their more youthful bath products, before smashing into your nose with sharp metallic notes and mellowing out into a pleasant spicy, earthy scent. To my nose, it ends up smelling like working in an urban community garden after a spring rain. Incredibly comforting, but still bold and androgynous.

This smell is nostalgic. To me it feels like sitting in a park with fresh cut grass on a warm summer day chewing bubblegum! I smelled it and knew I had to have it join my endless fragrance collection. Do you need this? YES you do.

Wore it on my wedding day

This scent is so special and unique, unlike anything I've owned before. Something sweet, a hint of bubble gum at first spray. It dries down into something sweetly spicy and beautiful. I wore it on my wedding day and so did my entire bridal party - that's how much I love it

Signature scent from Lush!

I got so nervous when I couldn't find this perfume on the website recently, I am so glad it's back! Tank Battle has become one of my signatures, especially for late summer/fall. It's a bit bubblegum, a bit catholic incense, with something very wet in the background. I've described it as chewing bubblegum, while smooching someone who's been smoking clove cigarettes, right before a thunderstorm breaks. You'd like this if you enjoy wearing warm, sweet/spicy scents with a twist. Excited to not have to hoard the last few drops in my bottle, buying more ASAP!

I have never been one to commit to one single scent and this was a blind purchase. This fragrance is so complex and aptly named. Starts out with a strong bubble gum and dries down to a wonderfully sweet, earthy patchouli. Staying power is decent but I reapply throughout the day. I absolutely adore the journey Tank Battle takes me on.

When I heard bubblegum in the description I knew I had to try it, I'm a very big fan of sweet smells as well as earthy/spicy smells. Upon first spritz I did get that hit of bubblegum, but after that it mellowed out and all I got was a strange mostly metallic smell. I really wanted to love it but it just didn't work for me.

Complex, interesting, not for everyone.

To me it smells like cotton candy in the woods. I get very sweet up front ending in earthy/bark smells. If you like vanillary and amelie mae you might like this.
