I would definitely buy this again!

You know how the tagline for Buckley's cough syrup is "Tastes awful, but it works"? The tagline for this product should be "Smells awful, but it works." Seriously. I used this product for the first time this morning, and the smell is...uh, something else. I thought this was going to be the first product I returned to Lush just because of that. But then I washed it out of my hair, and let me tell you, my hair is SO SOFT now. I hadn't deep conditioned in a while, so my hair was feeling pretty brittle and straw-like. Now it's incredible. 5 stars to H'Suan Wen Hua!

My post-dye treatment of choice

When I first used this treatment, my dog woke up from his nap, came upstairs, barged into my bathroom, and tried to lick the treatment off of my fingers, which should tell you something about how it smells. Every time I use it, I have to remind myself that Lush products should not be eaten no matter how good they smell. I have vibrantly dyed hair and this is my go-to every time I re-dye my hair. I use it to help lock in the color, and then again a month or so after. My colors seem brighter afterwards, even if it's been a while since the initial dying. I have fine, oily hair so I was worried about applying it to my scalp as directed, but it rinsed out fine and my hair hasn't suffered any adverse effects!

your hair is not helpless

Let me tell y'all about my hair. It is fine, it is (deceptively) thin, and has no concept of looking healthy. In the summer, it is a frizzy, damaged mess. I went shopping with my friend and decided to try it because I do love a lot of lush products, namely face masks. I expected to see a slight change for maybe a day or two after the treatment. Ladies and gents that was NOT the case. People kept asking me what I did different to my hair-- did I cut it? dye it? get extensions? I have never, and I mean NEVER received so many compliments on my hair before. This product transformed my hair from a hot mess to a silky and healthy mane. I am even brave enough to get the ends of my hair bleached. The cost is a little high considering how much you use, but it is so worth it.

Used to love this

Minnesota | 1 year ago

This used to be my go to weekly hair treatment. Unfortunately, the new formula isn't up to par. I've found that the consistency is much thicker, causing me to use significantly more product in a single use. The new formula doesn't soften or smooth my hair like it did in the past. Alas, all good things must come to an end.

Incredible Hair Treatment

This stuff is absolutely awesome. It's so softening, conditioning, and just all around GREAT. My hair felt better after only one use, and as I continue to use it, my hair is getting softer, shinier, and stronger. The smell is a little strange in the tub, but once you've washed it out of your hair it only smells faintly of chai.

The egg-filled version loved my hair

Okay - I realize this is now the new "egg-free" formulation, however I JUST tried the eggy version for the 3rd time and it is safe to say I am HOOKED and will even purchase this new, egg-free concoction. I have fine, "swavy" hair with fly-aways from breakage that is always in need of more moisture and I suspect some protein as well. I put this stuff on my dry hair, put a little "Hair Doctor" treatment on the ends as well (another must-have), wrapped my hair in saran-wrap (because super classy) and let it sit for 2 hours before I rinsed, shampooed with Fairly Traded Honey shampoo, and used my regular conditioner on the ends only. My hair has not been so soft, silky, shiny and frizz free... probably since I was 10 years old and a complete virgin to any and all hair care products, bleaches and dyes, heat styling tools etc. I could not stop touching my hair and it lasted from the time I went to work my 13 hour shift at the hospital until I got home. Unfortunately, second-day hair is not my forte as I sweat in my sleep. I loved the way this product smelled (like chai tea but not too overpowering) and the texture was a bit more runny than I had expected, but it didn't affect the results at all. Will buy again!
