How to Use

1. Place your treatment in a heatproof container and boil some water in a kettle. 2. Slowly add several ounces of boiling-hot water to the solid treatment and stir gently using the wooden stick. Take your time, adding water as needed, and allowing the product to thicken until you're left with an empty stick and a rich, creamy treatment. This should take around five minutes. 3. When it's cool enough to touch, apply to dry hair and leave for around 20 minutes to allow the ingredients to get to work replenishing your hair. Shampoo out and admire your luscious locks! Made too much? Keep your mix for conditioning top-ups for up to four weeks.

WARNING -GUMMY TEXTURE

star-star-filled star-star-empty star-star-empty star-star-empty star-star-empty

Chicago, IL | 11 days ago

I followed the directions, slowly adding 1 cup of boiling water, stirring consistently. The end consistency was like the slime or silly putty children play with. It got stuck in my hair and took multiple washes, and washcloth scrubbing and brushing, to get out. I have type 4 kinky-coily hair. I used this treatment maybe 1.5 years ago, and it was thinner and creamier and not problematic. They must have changed the recipe. I should have read and believed the reviews before trying this. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF HOURS OF STRUGGLE, SHAMPOO, AND WATER BY NOT USING THIS.

A Joke of a Product

Is this some kind of joke? I followed the instructions perfectly. I got this bubblegum textured gunk that took forever to get off my hands and an eternity to get out of my hair. I took an hour and a half long (and near boiling) shower and went through an entire bottle of shampoo trying to get this out of my hair and it STILL isn't all out! It just won't come out!! My hair is now unbelievable oily, its stiff, and has lost it's soft natural texture (it feels like straw). I am not just disappointed in Lush for having this product, I'm mad. The only positive thing I have to say is I did get my money back.

Negative reviews are accurate :(

I first used New about a year ago and at the time, I would've given it 10/5 stars! It was luxuriously creamy and did amazing things for my hair and scalp. Because of this, I figured that the negative reviews I saw when I reordered were just people using it wrong. But no. I followed the directions to a tee, and the color, texture, and even smell were different from what I remembered. I left the mask on a little longer than 20 minutes: also a mistake because some of it started to dry. And the texture of the wet mask is honestly gross, like gummy snot :(. I shampooed 3 times and conditioned twice and still had pink chunks in my hairline when I started to dry it. Now I've given up and will just rewash tomorrow morning. I'm so sad and confused! What happened to New???

I would not buy this anymore

Terrible. It stuck on my hair after 2 times washes.

This Needs to Be Taken off the Shelves.

Is this a joke? Followed the video to a T and ended up having to wash out the gum consistency with hot water. Between this, and the sulfates found in your other hair products I'm taking my money elsewhere.

I would buy again, smells nice!

Was a bit sticky and due to reviews I watered down a lot to have the same consistency as one of lush's hair masks. As my container I used some old lush pots ( which not as good as glass but worked great! And disposable if needed) when I did this it took two large pots! So much! I used about a third of the pot. It washed out fine but I don't usually use shampoo and I did this time just to make sure I got it out. It didn't take too long. My hair is soft and smells so nice! So cinnamony. It does weigh it down a bit but definitely would used again. Not a miracle worker for soft but definitely feels clean and bit softer.

DONT BUY!!!

Omg I had to wash my hair 5 times before I got all that "treatment" I usually love lush! They just lost a loyal customer because one of the staff told me that it's getting discontinued they would have removed it from stores!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Product, MUST DILUTE A LOT FOR BEST RESULTS

First off, there are a lot of negative reviews referring to the gloopy texture, the mess that it makes, and how hard it is to wash out. To be honest, if you follow the instructions really well and go for a "creamy rich texture", that is what you are going to get. I dilute it waaaay down, so it is about the consistency of good pancake batter or honey while it is still warm. Make sure to apply while still warm, but NOT HOT! I get about a tablespoon into my hands at a time, rub it between my hands, and then massage it into my scalp gradually. The oil should just barely be coating your hair, not sticking in big globs. It takes me about 10 minutes to massage it in, but it WORKS! And, best thing is, no mess, it is easy to wash out, and my hair looks great afterwards!! The key is to DILUTE TO PANCAKE BATTER CONSISTENCY and MASSAGE IN GRADUALLY. Good luck, y'all!
Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Do Not Get It.

Hi, I bought the "get to the roots" hair treatment last week. I used the product 3 days ago and it was the worst experience ever it was like I was putting glue in my hair it also toke quite some hair pulling to get it all out. After all that I contacted a lush live chat and they offered me $15 I honestly don't think that's the best they could have done but yea pls don't get this product.
