Dried my hair out and did not change the color

Cooke City, Montana | 5 days ago

My hair is mostly straight with a bit of a wavy pattern. It is dry, frizzy, and easily damaged. About a year ago I started bleaching and coloring my hair. When my hair got damaged to the point where it would not hold color at all I decided to try Lush's henna hair dye to try to repair some damage and go back to my natural dark brown. I decided it really did not matter to me if my hair turned out brown or red. Even if it didnt show up too well at least it is supposed to be really good for my hair. When I started my hair was a kind of orange-ish blond due to the bleach. It wasn't red though. When I finished it was the exact same color. Literally exactly the same. It didn't even color the brighter blond bits to match the rest. Like I said, this would not have bothered me much if it had helped my hair heal a bit. Instead it made my hair dryer than it has ever been. I don't know how to fix it now. I am going to try adding some black henna dye from lush to at least darken it even if it dries my hair out more.

didn't do anything to my hair

I followed the instructions to use it. I had used the Maroon before, which was too redish for me. the first time I used Brun, my hair got a bit darker but retained the auburn quality I like. The second time, I just left it for two hours because I was in a hurry. It did not get as dark as I wanted. Next time I'll leave it on for four hours. I turned to henna because my hair was dry, frizzy and falling out. Now, my hair seems softer and silkier, and it does not seem to be falling out, either. I LOVE it!!!! I will continue buying this product. Yes, it a little messy, but I learned to use less henna with more water. The first time I used it, I broke the block in 6 parts, and I used two parts. The solution was too thick and difficult to apply, even when I added more hot water. The second time, I used one 12th of the block, and I tried to keep the solution as thin as possible. It was a lot easier to apply and less messy. I have already recommended this product.

First time using henna. I have very long light brown hair with golden highlights. I chopped up the whole block with a knife and then added boiling water. I didn't need to use a blender or cheese grater to get a fine consistency and it melted easily. I didn't have any help and it was fine applying by myself. I started off using a culinary brush to apply it and quickly switched to scooping handfuls and working it through small sections of my hair. I found continuing to add warm water to the henna helped and keeping the consistency on the more liquid side helped ensure full coverage when applying it. I wrapped my head in plastic wrap and let is sit for 5 hours. It set into a kind of claylike helmet. I rinsed it out in the shower (very messy) and found that putting tons of liquid conditioner in my hair really helped rinse out the cocoa butter. Then I washed twice. My hair is slightly darker brown with very pretty red/auburn highlights. It's not brassy or copper. I love it! And it's noticeably shinier and softer. I'm tempted try marrón next :)

My son actually bought me the Broun as a Christmas gift about 2 years ago I finally used it to day I have almost waist length hair and I only used 3 squares and it was more than enough to cover. The only thing I did not like is that the Gray and silver and white hairs are now a goldish pumpkin color everybody that sees it thinks it looks amazing on me but I'm not 100% sure I personally like it I will probably Use my liquid henna to cover up that part in the next couple days. I've always used the powdered henna for the last 45 years but it was the last 10 years that I had to go to the liquid Hannah to cover up the Gray otherwise I had bright bright pumpkin colored wings just above my ears. I did not realize how much the Cocoa butter was going to soften my hair which is not a badd thing I really like the feel of it it feels amazingly healthy silky and soft and I can't keep my hands off of my hair now lol however I did not realize how greasy my hair would be afterwards so when I called an associate, she told me that it was OK to wash my hair up to 2-3x get the Cocoa butter out when I had explained to her that I've always been told not to wash your hair for 3-4 days, but she says because of the rich Cocoa butter you do want to rinse it out well 1st (which I already did) & then wash it out with shampoo. if I didn't have to go to work the next day I would have left the Cocoa butter in just a moisturize the hair more, but an amazing product I will buy more in the future.

I lost my long hair from bleaching out black box hair dye ...grew out the salt and pepper for 2 years. Didn't feel ready to go grey with it being a mixture of dark brown and grey streaks ..... dyed it twice with the henna and my brown hair was rich and shiny and the grey streaks went gold. Really love the high light effect. The condition of my wiry crinkly greys was also tamed. Will use this product until I'm ready for grey hair .

Brun turned my bleach blonde balayage a beautiful brown

My balayage was way too blonde and I've been trying to be a bit more conscious about the products I consume lately so I decided to try and fix it myself with this henna. I was worried I'd end up crying on the bathroom floor with bright red hair but my bleached ends turned a nice, golden brown. I left the entire block of henna on for two hours. The colour didn't take completely on the undyed parts of my hair so my balayage is still intact. Win! I'm so delighted.

the first time i used it, i actually slept with it in my hair (per store associates recommendation) bad idea. the smell was rough and i ended up waking up at 2 am to wash it out. that being said. i love this product. i am a curly natural with grey hair. the grey hair makes my hair look super dry. the brun covered it amazingly. just what i was going for. and it was subtle. that was back in february. i used the product again in may. this time i covered it for about 4 hours with plastic then washed out during the day. i have to say being out in the sun the product seemed to lighten my hair to a lighter brown. i loved the result and all in all its covering my greys. i love this product and noticed that it also strengthened my hair and was easier to manage.

I am so impressed with this product, that I will never go back to salon/chemical dye. I used henna brun over my dried out blonde hair and the result was an amazing caramel brown colour! My hair is so much softer and lush after using this product over the past few mths. I've noticed that it fades out after about 4 weeks, but it's so inexpensive when compared to salon prices. Also, my hair stylist told me that my hair would turn green if I used this over my chemically dyed blonde hair. Lies!!!

I just used this for the second time, see my previous comment under the same name. This product turned my hair a bright red. I look like a natural ginger. At first I thought I read the instructions wrong because I left it wrapped in plastic. But I tried it a SECOND time, unwrapped for 4 hours. And my hair looks identical. So disappointed. I'm distraught. I want my hair to be brown but you can't use hair dye over henna so I'm stuck with it. I don't know what to do. I might buy noir because maybe it'll darken my hair enough so I don't look like a firetruck anymore. Please test it on a small section of your hair first before you commit.
